I have just downloaded and run KM but it wont allow me to visit Facebook because of cookies .I have enabled cookies on the privacy toolbar but still get told to enable cookies in my browser by facebook.

One possible item to check is the setting in Preferences > Privacy & Security for which cookies to allow. If set to originating site only, try changing to accept all cookies.
