Saved Browser Sessions Not Updated

Hello,

When I load a saved session in K-Meleon, the session that loads is not fully updated, but rather reverts to many of the earlier tabs in that same session, some from days earlier.

Why are saved sessions not fully updated?

Sessions are snapshots of the URLs in windows and tabs when the session is saved. The data in the URLs may or may not have changed when one views the session later.

Too lazy/tired to write in English. JamesD beat me with an English answer anyway.

Am not sure either what exactly is meant here with "updated".

Just a little detail that's little known by users:
in the CURRENT session a page/URL/sessionlist only gets stored at the moment when a page is fully loaded, otherwise not. And especially if some tabs get closed and then the current session is either closed or manually saved, without a new page load happening in the meantime, then the sessions plugin is not aware of those closed URLs. That means they remain stored - resulting in more pages as expected when restoring that session.

What else could matter... Cache?

In old KM-versions (no idea about modern ones) KM must not be in offline-mode when restoring a session, otherwise it will only open the pages that are still cached. Resulting in less opened pages as expected.

I can elaborate partly:

you know, sessions.json saves not only list of URLs for tabs in session, but also browsing history in every tab.

Imagine you browse from you pages (Ex.: forum thread here) somewhere in the same tab - and then you went back with corresponding command.
After that you close K-Meleon with saving session.

Your sessions.json will save that in tab history like that:
some previous page URL
your usual page URL
some next page URL
some next page URL
some next...

Look: that 'temporary' next pages are here in list MORE RECENT than you current page.
And sometime KM starts not with URL it was left with in tab mentioned - but with LAST address in its listing.

That is the glitch of sessions kplugin.
