Hello.

I can't login to https://accounts.forumfree.it/?act=Login&cid=768311

K-meleon 75.1 Rodocop (non pro). It does not work on KM 76 Pro either.

Thanks.

You actually get logged in.

It's about the cookie named "resolution".

Delete it and you'll be able to login again, but be aware that it will be re-created again, and again, and again if you enable JavaScript, because it will write it again.

I don't know anything about the site, but look usable without JavaScript, so you may live with it.

You can toggle JS with F7 key, by default settings.

May look like they set that cookie for kind of responsive CSS (which, if true, is dumb) or whatever and as the server "can't reply" content in your resolution, its response is an empty page.

You may need to contact support and tell them what is going on with that cookie.

In my case, I was testing with K-meleon 75.0.

NOPE , i can't find it.

I deleted all the cookies, same result.

cannot even connect this site (domain). Got SSL error in any browser tried (not only KM).

Suppose the problem on the server side.

Later I'll try to make a video to show it.

Unless you explain further what happens exactly to you.

In my case, I try to log-in, the server serves an empty page, I delete de cookie for .forumfree.it named resolution, press F5 and voilà, I'm in.

Ok, here is how it works for me.

I haven't tested all features, but looks how it is related to that cookie to the access to certain pages.

If you can't view the video inside that 7z file, use this site to convert it to your system capabilities on playing videos:

Got a completely empty page too. No sourcecode, no cookies.
Then tried toggling a few things and found:
They want a modern useragent string! Even FF38 is "too old"
With FF40 or IE10 the login page shows up at least.

They probably want yet more for further functions, but don't feel like going any further and allowing more stuff.

Looks like it works for each one in different ways and all may be site related, so moving from Bugs to General forum.

Solved the load problem using siria's advice.

But cannot register: it allows my address to be used in registration but after clicking "Register" says "You must enter a VALID email address"

Hehe, that's what I get on amazon - as long as Referer is blocked! Without the slightest hint for users about this reason.
Just as sidenote, assuming you have like most people referers allowed anyway.

I don't know what you do with your user agent, but when I get an empty page, the only way to load the page is to remove the resolution cookie.

Once done, it loads every "empty page".

:-?

For me is another X-files site candidate.

Yeah, their code seems to be a written a bit too 'intelligent'
I don't get that cookie because it needs, as you wrote above, javascript allowed. Mine is blocked. I do get an empty page with older UAs.

I don't get any data (and so cookies) with old UA - even with JS set ON!!!

Tested with KM76RC2 on Win7

- In order to get the login-page you must change the default UA to a newer one. Mine was Firefox 52.
- Temporary mails get blocked and you get the message that the mail address you entered is invalid. Mine was also a temporary mail address but one that didn't made it to their blocklist yet. Time for them to update their blocklist. grinning smiley
- The log-in was painless.
To avoid complications, I enabled scripting and enabled cookies for third party servers.

As you can see the cookie for resolution (mentioned by JohnHell) was set. It doesn't seem to have any negative impact and I can browse the forums without problems.

As shown in the video, not all pages have conflicts with that cookie.

Sorry, maybe I'm missing something?
I logged in afore and everything seems to work. (I didn't delete any cookie)

Besides, the complain was about log-in which also works flawless for me.

Both good ideas. Perhaps the prob is the first, perhaps the second, perhaps even both. But if it runs now, who cares :-)

Both JohnHell and I logged in successfully more than once. Something on your side hinders the log-in.
Telling us only that it doesn't work is a cryptical statement.
There are more chances to get help if you tell us exactly move by move what doesn't work. (empty page instead of log-in page or whatever else)

I'd recommend for a start:
- Make a new portable install of KM76 to a location of your choice and make sure that KM has writing privilege (Help/Troubleshooting/Check Privilege)
- Settings:
don't touch any setting (scripting and cookies for third party servers should be enabled by default)
add the UA.js file (and oly that) to your fresh and clean install, so you can change comfortable the UA
make sure that the UA change gets applied (Firefox 52 or above are fine)

BTW, can you log-in with any other browser than K-Meleon?

The address shown in your screenshot (http://bet.forumfree.it/) is not identical with what you posted in your first post ( https://accounts.forumfree.it/?act=Login&cid=768311)
During troubleshooting it is always important to give accurate informations.
This time I logged in from the address shown in your screenshot.
You get a warning with KM because of a certificate mismatch but if you press the "continue" button you'll get logged in.
As you can see in the screenshot I'm logged in (inalus).
screenshot

As for the blank page shown in your screenshot - did you follow my advise?
- Did you made a fresh portable install of KM76 as advised? (It takes less than 1 minute to extract a zipped file)
- Do you know how to change the UserAgent? Did you change the UserAgent to Firefox 52 or higher? Did you check if the change gets applied?

Sorry if I sound too pedagogic but we want to solve the problem. Don't we? smiling smiley

Could you please provide a screenshot (like mine) of your fresh installed KM76 after accessing the site? (http://bet.forumfree.it/)
I assume that you can access the site since you told us that you only can't log-in.

So it's not about log-in, you can't even access the site (blank page).

I miss in your screenshot the window where your UserAgent gets displayed! (important)

...and this is Dorian's official version, not "Pro", right?
Because UAs have become slightly complicated in all 7X versions, sigh.

Find it unusual that this forum isn't encrypted (http not https)
Even when someone is logged in already:

Am going to make a tiny test macro that pops up the UA as alert automatically...

If your question is addressed to me, of course Dorian's official version.
I'd never start to make tests with anything else.(KM76RC2/Win7)

If addressed correctly from the beginning, KMfan2's problem would have been simple to solve and we wouldn't witness this long thread.
As it turns out he gets a blank page when accessing that page. This has nothing to do with log-in.
The only reason he gets the blank page is because of the badly outdated UserAgent and this was already mentioned by you as well.
In order to access that site you don't even need cookies and scripting to be enabled.

Yes may be. On the other hand I see that changing UAs has become such a complicated thing since Dorian removed the default macro, and with the KM-Pro version there exists now yet another UA version, it's quite confusing even for myself sad smiley

Anyway, here's a tiny little INFO MACRO to check the current settings smiling smiley
It only shows some important ones, it does NOT change anything.
And hope that in the future it can help for other similar probs too.
