How to change the User Agent in K-meleon 7x.x

THIS EXTENSION IS ONLY TO BE USED TO ADD CUSTOM USER AGENT CONFIGURATION TO
K-MELEON OFFICIAL RELEASE

To change the User Agent in K-meleon 74, 75, 75.1 and 76, you need to install a K-meleon macro extension, as the feature was removed for these versions.

This is for the vanilla official release as it lacks the functionality. Don't install if you already added anything with this functionality to your installation.

To install it, download it from the bottom following thread, and follow the next steps to use it, that are available, as well, in the Readme.txt inside the file you'll download.

useragent.kmm Macro for K-meleon
================================

1. Description
--------------

A macro to allow users of K-meleon 74 and above to change User Agent easily, as it was available in previous versions.

Additionally it allows to set personal User Agent strings for quick changes.

2. Compatibility
----------------

- K-meleon 74 and above.

3. Installation
---------------

You can uncompress, except this readme file, in the root folder of K-meleon.

Alternatively, you can do it manually by following these steps.

Place the file useragent.kmm in the default macros folder of K-meleon.

Place useragent.js in browser\defaults\preferences folder.

The kmm file is the macro itself; the useragent.js file stores the personal User Agent strings.

4. Usage
--------

Go to the Tools > User Agent menu and choose the User Agent to set, if you already added personal strings to useragent.js, or choose Default, for default K-meleon string, or "Custom..." that will let you set an User Agent on the fly.

If you are not sure of your User Agent you can use the "Check current user agent" option.

In case you only want to use the User Agent strings for the current browser session only, check the "Reset to default on exit" option.

To edit useragent.js and add or remove personal strings, use the "Edit custom User Agent list" option.

If you don't know how to, follow the example in the firsts lines of the file and use the first entry as starting point.

There is only one important rule to follow: don't leave jumps between strings numbers (1 3 4 5), instead (1 2 3 4 5). You can, for example, add them not sorted (1 3 5 2 4), but you can't set non-consecutive numbers. And they must ever start from 1.

For a source of User Agents you can check any of this URLs

5. Known issues
---------------

- If you edit useragent.js to add your own personal strings, and don't follow the numbering, without jumps (1 3, instead 1 2 3), you will cause unexpected behaviors to the User Agent Menu.
