Incompatibilities (video) again ...

Hi!

My experience is that there are more and more sites where videos don't work with KM.

Here two typical cases (the first already reported):

https://www.facebook.com/Avaaz/videos/10155624649758884/?ref=tahoe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mexr5G9FmE4

My last attempt was to download KM76RC2, with no success. Normally I use KM76RC*), with UserAgent:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:99.9) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/99.9 (Pale Moon)

Sincerely
Z.

*) Shouldn't the KM version info displayed in Help > About K-Meleon be improved to show exactly the used KM release? At the moment only the UserAgent info is shown, so it is not easy to get the exact used version.

Both videos work fine in my KM 76 Pro (RC2 based) as well as in KM 75.10 Pro (75.1 based).

But useragent matters there.

Excuse my English. The Google translator...

Hello!
I think your problem is in the Adobe Flash Player add-on. As you seem to have a 64-bit computer, try performing the following steps:

1 - Uninstall Adobe Flash Player (possibly in version 28.0.0.xxx)

2 - Download and install Flash Player version 10.3.181.34 (Flash Player version 10.3.183.90 should also be valid)

3 - It is installed by default in the directories "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash" (for 32-bit applications) and "C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash" (for 64-bit applications).

4 - Go to "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash", copy the file "NPSWF32.dll" and paste it into the "plugins" folder (No "K-plugins"). If it does not exist, create it in the installation path of K-Meleon (usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\K-Meleon\plugins")

5 - Later you would have to reinstall the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (currently Version 28.0.0.161). Although it is not necessary, I recommend that you uninstall the old version (Flash Player 10.3.181.34).

6 - Finally, for what I explained in point 3, you would have to delete all the files contained in the directory "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash" (so that K-Meleon does not recognize this plugin by default) and leave the files installed in "C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash" (so that 64-bit browsers or other applications recognize this plugin by default). This last point you should do it every time you update Adobe Flash Player.

I hope it helps.

It worked perfectly with the stable version of K-Meleon 75.1 (Mozilla / 5.0 (Windows NT 6.1, WOW64, rv: 31.0) Gecko / 20100101 Firefox / 31.0 K-Meleon / 75.1).

Note: We are many who are looking forward to the stable version of K-Meleon 76 and even the K-Meleon 77 project with Goanna.

Greetings.

@rodocop:

I have switched now to K-Meleon 76 - Goanna 3.4.2 (Build 20180224). My first experience: One of the video-problem pages (Avaaz) is working fine, another one (Youtube) is working after installation of LAV filters.

My new favorite build: K-Meleon 76 - Goanna 3.4.2 (Build 20180224)
