time/date of downloaded files

As KM sets the time/date-credentials of a downloaded file to the time/date of download (and not to the time/date of the file on the server) I am forced to use an external download manager what complicates the things ...

How to bring KM to set time/date to the time/date of the file on the server by default and NOT to the time/date of the download process?

Resolved, wontfix (filled 17 years ago):
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178506

And even though the latest K-meleon versions use Goanna engine, which, after all is based on Gecko, I doubt they will fix, so, the general recommendation in that bug is what you do: use an external download manager.

As some point out in that bug, I'm those who prefer the download time for easer later file sorting. When I use the download manager, even if it has an option to disable it, it sets the original file date and sometimes is frustrating when searching for files.

Alternatively, try to install this Firefox Add-on:

http://legacycollector.org/firefox-addons/222517/index.html

I don't warrant it will work with K-meleon, anyway.
