Warning dialog box

I have hosts file entries to prevent access to certain sites. When a page refreshes
and attempts to contact those sites, a warning dialog comes up that I have
to acknowledge.

How can I disable this warning dialog box?:

The connection was refused when attempting to contact ad.doubleclick.net

This seems to be a Mozilla problem (present in 0.9.5). Happens with me, too.

This isn't really a bug, you need to be told when an attempt to contact a host fails. I would look for better methods to block ads, such as the popup disabler built in to k-meleon, and adsubtract (www.adsubtract.com)

I have no problem with pop-ups. The host file definitions
work fine for keep extraneous stuff out of the cache and history.
Opera and MS IE don't display a warning dialog box.

Opera and MS IE do inform me when a web site I requested can't be
contacted. Since I didn't ask to contact ad.doubleclick.net I shouldn't
be told it cannot be contacted.

BTW, I haven't seen a warning on any site other than ad.doubleclick.net
while www.drudgereport.com is loading or refreshing.

jack ak is quite right. Those warnings happen when a webpage derives something from another server (even in a "normal" news portal like www.delfi.ee - in Estonian), and you certainly don't need to be notified about that unless you really want to.

In my case, both Mozilla and K-Meleon do that, so I actually think this is something that should be fixed. I've been trying to look for specific Mozilla policies for that purpose but could not find any from www.mozilla.org. BTW, there is a good site at
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/components/configPolicy.html
some of that information may apply to K-Meleon too (?)

The hosts file is a good solution consumes much less resources than an ad blocker or any other such software - the less applications you are running, the more stable is your system! However, I think that those alerts (or warning dialogs) can be turned off from somewhere. So I hope somebody is smarter than me and finds it out.

I think I've seen some bugs posted about this at Mozilla and there has been some debate whether this is actually a bug or not. I'll post if I can find that.
