When I access YouTube the following message is displayed: "This browser version will no longer be supported. For the best experience, upgrade your browser."

Version: K-Meleon 76.2G
Operating System: Windows XP, SP3, 32bit

modify general.useragent.override.youtube.com preference from about:config

I have a value of "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 PaleMoon/28.0" for general.useragent.override.youtube.com and I do not get those youtube browser warnings

I do the same for general.useragent.override.googlevideos.com, general.useragent.override.google.com and other google related sites

in other words, edit the UA strings for the youtube & google sites

I modified that value (the message gone) but now YouTube loads the new YouTube version which it moves VERY SLOW. I have reset to the old value and hope that YouTube will continue to work without changing that value.

That won't happen, andrei.

Soon or later, YouTube will be rolling the new version and if you don't have a PC powerful enough, you'll have to use the alternative sites that has been told here
http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,149420,149420#msg-149447

Isn't something that you can control on your side, unless buying a new PC, if you say it is slow (performs quite well on a Core 2 Duo, so no much powerful).

That is what happens with these sites, or you are in, or you are out. They don't wait to your personal hardware issues.

Acc another forum (msfn) Google will kill the "classic" layout in just a few weeks.
Then youtube will only be available with "modern polymer" layouts. They say there are 2 versions of it, but both very heavy. Not sure which UA is needed for "polymer v1", guess was something with Firefox45....

The new version of YouTube doesn't seem so modern to me. Even if I had a performant computer I wouldn't appreciate what they did. After all, the videos are the same (the ones that ordinary people upload). YouTube should have the "Classic YouTube Version" option (as it was for a while). For example, there could be a button to activate and deactivate the classic version and use the new one if the user wanted it. There are still many people around the globe who can't afford a decent (not necessarily high-performant) computer.

Consider modern as synonym of new in terms of look.

But the core of the page itself, the purpose of the new re-design, is to have shared interface experience among all devices, from desktop PC, mobile and smart TVs. And unified ecosystem, if you wish (a trend in all interfaces systems, from OSs to sites, etc).

EDIT: at eBay you may find (or there were) second hand Core 2 Duo for around 60-70€, or so. Depending on our own situation that is too much, but is an option, as, even now is slow, it is enough for most of the tasks.
