Hi, Is there any way for YouTube results to be displayed as in the classic version (previous version) ??? Youtube has recently changed the display of results and the new version is much harder to load than the previous version. I using KMeleon 76.2 Goanna 3.4.5 (latest build: 20200613), OS: Windows Xp, Sp3, 32 bit. Thx

unfortunately, eventually google will get rid of the old classic youtube UI for good but something here might work for a while:

I didn't know there is any ividio.us till now and this is the 1st i've just seen there. Some hopes resulting under the read more link? No plan. Too complicated for me as beginner on that platform having my centre of live in other sphereas. I can't invest so much time there

I have an own macro-script in work too, extracting video data/description/image etc. from original youtube, plus download links too, works great so far but not quite finished yet.

In past Youtube mayed to switch breaking advertisement on videos longer 10 minutes, now it must be longer than only 8 minutes. More, it's applied also on old videos, also if the creator switched off the advertisement, now he must to do it on all his videos anew if he still wants they are ad-free. U2B calculates, many of them will now refuse this work because of too much expense, following the site gets much more ads profit in future

Allready since a longer time I could see a warning, "We will stop to support your browser soon" on Youtube. Now it is accomplished, within a hugher SW renewal evidently, together with an other restrictions, for increasing rentability of the platform. At the cost of general user kindnes, naturally (and user irreplacable time).

3. Your video was downloaded as »videoplayback« named file without extension, I must rename it manually. On the other side, "my" video was downloaded correctly in this point.

It's your own decision that you only ever accept solutions you find yourself, no matter how long that takes, and hardly ever READ the time-SAVING answers you get. I observe this since years, again and again, explaining you something or posting links, but you vanish and then some months or a year later show up again describing how much endless time you had to waste again with own attemps solving the same prob, only due to not carefully reading the long since given explanations. Only maybe 5-30% of it quickly skimmed. By the way most supporters in forums have not enough time themselves.

For most other people I wouldn't even need to add this info, they'd look in the first few or last posts for any attachments by themselves.

By the way for those MACRO-scripts, used DIRECTLY on youtube, the useragent matters. It depends on useragent string which formats youtube offers inside the page.
This one used to restore Classic view until recently (and currently again, for a little while?)
It offers 720 + 360px videos in mp4 format. Regardless if the page is READABLE or NOT:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; http://www.google.com/bot.html)

And if sometimes you want the tiniest possible file size, in my own script this one gives access to tiny 144-240px Height 3gp videos, but it shows the inreadable MOBILE layout. Not sure if John meanwhile included that layout and 3gp format too:

As explained in the post (and maybe I should include as a readme in the zip ) there is script configuration in the .js file.

These are the default options, and as you can see, the 3GP are set to not display by default.

And the trick is: youtube isn't always accurate about the size :cool:
The above example video offers 720 / 360 / 144, but this the actual size, defined in their json:

The real size of "small 144p" 3gp videos actually depends from the original video size. THIS one is narrower 320x180 since it was filmed by mobile phone obviously. But have also seen others which were really 320x240, and still labelled as "small 144p"

But aside from that, if you have very limited bandwith and just CAN'T download huge vids, a sharp image isn't always the main purpose. Often it's more important to see anything at all, or even to just understand the spoken text (of course, a bit fuzzy as well, like ancient radios) In the end, getting a lousy fuzzy video is still a whole lot better as getting NO video at all ;-)
