Last Word About reCAPTCHA Problems

All identity varification CAPTCHA's function normally, except reCAPTCHA. For example,
eBay is using a puzzle challenge with a missing piece. Your identity is varified by
dragging the missing piece and completing the puzzle.

I've had problems with reCAPTCHA for years. If I refresh the page dozens of times
reCAPTCHA ocassionally renders correctly.

I'm using KM-Goanna with all updates installed. This is what I see:

I've tried most (if not all) of the suggestions at this forum. Nothing works. Perform
a Google search about this problem. There are thousands of listings. CNET forum has
threads that never end (hundreds of pages) discussing problems with reCAPTCHA.

If I use other browsers (like Otter) the first part of reCAPTCHA appears. The "Im not
a robot" box.

The second part of reCAPTCHA almost never appears. When it does, it fails to function
correctly.

What an endless nightmare...
Would direly need access myself, but no clue how on old system, and probable zero chance anyway.

In your case:
could be that KMG76 is now blocked too, but perhaps only more tricky. No clue.
Ocasionally (somewhere in web) people say "cannot connect" means that something is blocked.
For example fonts download? (check all "font" entries in aboutconfig)
Or domain "fonts.googleapis.com"? Or fonts.gstatic.com?
Or not ALL cookies are allowed...
Or that pref, "dom.messageChannel.enabled"

That is, or a problem on their end, or a block on yours.

Type about:networking on the urlbar and check if there is some failing connection.

I realize this reCAPTCHA problem is intractable. There is no logical solution.

JohnHell, if I find a blocked or failing connection, what is the fix?

If there is a failing connection and is not your connection, or DNS, being unstable, try to find out if you have some kind of blocking.

Hosts file, for example, firewalls, antivirus, etc

It's hard to tell without being there.

about:networking is just a hint that may help to determine if there is a problem with the connectivity between you and the host.

Look at me, with K-meleon 75.0, what I have to do to allow it to work..., Opera user agent, third party scripts, messagechannel preference, subdocuments... uffff. I hate Google. I hate to switch everything when I go to tineye.com where you have 99% chances that, at least, once a day you'll have to solve some reCaptcha.

And still sometimes I have your error and it is because it can't contact Google servers, but at their end, not from mine.

Anyway, trial-error.

GRRR.... just tried again to get that thing working, after reading that "messageChannel" needs "webworkers" enabled. Right, found it was off in my Opera12, but sadly switching ON still didn't fix that criminal crap either sad smiley Or at least, I can't even see the recaptcha-frame at all in Opera. Why?? Looked around in settings, css, renamed hosts file etc.... Guess last time I tried was with KG74. There the frame showed up, just no content except intro text.

Very interesting... Which UA exactly?

And was especially intrigued after reading that mC supposedly needs min Firefox41, but your KM75 matches only FF31:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/MessageChannel
https://caniuse.com/channel-messaging

Looked around further, and this sounded as if mC already existed before FF41, incl. pref. Mozilla only dragged the fix for some webworkers bug until FF41:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=952139
Yep, and this says mC itself was introduced since FF26, just off by default:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=677638

Then got a slight hope for KG74, since PaleMoon26 engine had some updates after all.
Found a test code, if it exists. Works in Opera, but sadly only error in KG74 :-(
try{var ch = new MessageChannel(); alert(ch);} catch(e){alert(e);}

Workers aren't needed. The connection is pure back and forth AJAX calls with silence speech between client and server while you resolve the recaptcha.

General tip: Use the audio challenge, rather than the visual
captchas - much easier. You don't have to get every word.
