Does Roytam have anything to do with this browser?
>>> http://www.chameleonbrowser.com/
Or maybe he just got inspired from here...

The name of the application is a bit different and it seems to be version 1. Is this application the first version of the Kmeleon browser? smiling smiley It would be interesting to know smiling smiley

No.

I can't be confident with being the first version, but the first version can be found on the SourceForge repository and it is 0.2:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/kmeleon/files/k-meleon/

I vaguely remember that in the past there were some clones, but that you bring here is from 1999 and the clones were around the latest years of the first 21th century decade.

In deep inspection on a Windows 98 virtual machine shows that it is just a shell for Trident engine from Internet Explorer. The installer is just 700KB...

Nothing to do with K-meleon.

Just for historic info, K-Meleon main dev is still Dorian, since old times.
Roytam is with us only since Dec 2017, saving the browser by updating the inner engine (which he mainly develops for NewMoon27). But otherwise not much related to KM or it's shell/GUI, except for fixing the worst bugs.

Not that amazing. MyIE2, that it is/was a shell of Trident engine, as well, had tabs back then too.

Who was first?, I don't know.
