i think the kplugins directory is only for kmeleon-specific plugins.

here's a post with more info on media player-

http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?f=1&i=1384&t=1384

you might want to use the search function to find things in the forum related to the specific problems you're having.

Chucky,

What kinds of problems are you having with java?

What's your system set-up?

As for the Cosmo Player plugin, you can try faking a netscape.exe in the same directory as K-Meleon.exe. Just make a copy of K-Meleon.exe and rename it netscape.exe (keep K-Meleon.exe there as well of course). Then try to install the Cosmo Player again, select the second option ("use unsupported browser" or something like that it was) and try to direct Cosmo installation to your K-Meleon\Plugins directory - not kplugins.

I don't have Netscape but Cosmo installed fine. Even if it installs itself somewhere else, search the files
npcosmop211.dll
npcosmop211.jar
on your hard drive and copy them to K-Meleon\Plugins. The main thing is just to get it installing itself.

You can test Media Player by doing a simple Google search with the string "Media Player plugin required" in quotes, pick a page and try to find some Windows Media files there and then try to run them from K-Meleon. This should start the Media Player application.

Have fun and feel sure to ask if something goes wrong.

One more thing: with regard to Cosmo Player Plugin, this may also or may not be of some relevance:

http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?f=3&i=1305&t=1305

(If everything else fails, try to set your ID string to default, or maybe Netscape 6.1 - that's what I have... - and then try to install cosmo once more.)

Sorry, I meant "try to download cosmo once more" in my previous message but that seems to be of no relevance, so just forget the entire previous message.

I am having the same problem with "Shockwave install". It will only install in Netscape Plugin folder.

Install Shockwave to Netscape Plugins folder and copy, from there, the files np32dsw.dll and ShockwavePlugin.class to your K-Meleon\plugins. This worked on my computer.

However, I do think it's a good idea to have the Flash plugin installed first, instructions are on K-Meleon documentation page.

You can check whether K-Meleon has loaded the Shockwave plugin by typing about:plugins on the command line in K-Meleon.
