KM-Goanna and all my other browsers are showing the french language
version of Google! I have no idea why this is happening.

I performed a Google search and the suggested solution is to change
your Google account language preferences. I don't think this solution
would work for me because I don't save cookies, browser history, etc.

I started using Google days after it came online many years ago. It
was always in english. This sudden conversion to french happened
yesterday.

Can I fix this problem?

That is not important.

Google first checks your IP against their own IP databases (which isn't accurate at all, but depends on the user disclosure of information; remember this because no IP database is actually accurate) and depending on the result, it will route you to their local websites, in my case, to Google.es.

That is the first suspect. And it can go from just the local site, to the language.

Then it matters the language settings on the browser.

On K-Meleon you can go to Preferences > Page Display > Languages (tab)

And, believe me, it matters. In fact, Google doesn't show me the site in Spanish because of this, and I don't store cookies or anything else.

This is Google.es after setting Japanese as my preferred language with the setting above.

Might be with the setting above, but if Google decides to override it and set it based on you IP... then Google is dumb. Well, we already knew that, but you know...

As it happens with ANY BROWSER and not only K-meleon... might be the IP, or maybe a VPN, or an antivirus VPN (some pass al traffic through a proxy), etc.

All my browsers are set for english only, including KM-Goanna.

My first thought when I saw french Google was an IP database error.

There seems to be apps for almost everything. If this language conversion
error is happening to millions of Google users, maybe there is an app to fix
the problem. If not, I'll be clicking the "english" link from now on.

I didn't check on NewMoon, but on roytam's NewMoon, despite the accept-language HTTP header is sent and set to another preferred language, Google ignores it

Definitely, Google is dumb.

The only difference I see is that the connection is with HTTP/2 instead HTTP/1.1 of my K-meleon version.

And yes, it happens to lot of users. It is not the first time I read it on Spanish forums.

By the way, I did a mistake above, it doesn't redirect to the country TLD, I had setup to .es on my custom Google search URL and I didn't remember . I rarely use Google nowadays. My fault.

Anyway, it doesn't invalidate the above. I don't get why Google ignores the language on NewMoon and doesn't on K-meleon 75.0.

Roytam maybe could answer better on this, I guess. Both K-meleon on Goanna and NewMoon, are, after all, based on Goanna engine.

Ok, it was just a split second, but I have the solution and I found the glitch... on Google (I mean it is on Google, not searching on Google):

have at least 3 preferred languages set and you'll fix it

or

have 2 languages (by default are en and en-US (browser UI dependant, I guess)) but one of them being anything else than en or en-XX


(EDIT: I had to confirm on Firefox, because is not Goanna and... yep, it is exactly this)

As I said, Google is dumb, is all I can say.

Looks like if you have en (english) and en-us (US english) it fallbacks to... whatever they decide.

This is why nowadays I love/hate computing. It is so retarded...
