Sorry to sound like a stuck record, but the instructions given to delete the URL history don't work. I've done it multiple times and it just ain't happening. There's another thread pointing this out, but there was no response to it. Any takers?
1.- Make sure k-meleon is *not* running.
2.- Fire your favorite text editor.
3.- Open the file "prefs.js", it's usually located at:
C:\Your_Kmeleon_Path\Profiles\default\random.slt\Prefs.js
Of course "Your_Kmeleon_Path" & "random.slt" depends upon your system configuration.
4.- Use the search function or look for lines like this:
user_pref("kmeleon.MRU.URLnn", "http://www.somesite.com/"
;
and delete them.
5.- Save & Close the file and check K-meleon again.

Excellent. That appears to have worked. I guess the trick is to edit the preferences file in notepad whilst k-meleon isn't running. Do you know why it doesn't work when you try to do it any other way?

It doesn't work because the url list is cached is only read when kmeleon starts, which means that kmeleon doesn't care what happens to those preferences while it's running because it has it's own set in memory, and it writes out that set when it exits.
I may get around to fixing this sometime.

I tried it and it works if you edit this key user_pref("kmeleon.MRU.maxURLs", 16);
to this (16 becomes 0) user_pref("kmeleon.MRU.maxURLs", 0);
then there is no history
When you change this make sure that K-Meleon is closed.

Hi,
I tried all the suggestions described above, but everytime I restarted K-meleon, it reverted the prefs.js file to the original setting, i.e. user_pref("kmeleon.MRU.maxURLs", 16); and furthermore it restored all the URL'S I had previously visited.
Then I realised that the problem was due to the presence of the K-meleon Fast loader... once this was removed it all worked fine.
Probably obvious to most of you, but I thought it would be useful to mention that for other newbies like me who might encounter the same problem.
