FTP

Hello,
I have tried to browse and FTP directory with no success (K-meleon tries to open a file). I reported a bug and was told to download the appcomps.dll from the mozilla project and install it into my components directory.

I did this and still cannot browse a directory. Any one have a solution to this problem?

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

It may not be registering with K-Meleon. Make sure that K-Meleon is completely closed. Then delete this file:

component.reg

from:

C:\Program Files\K-Meleon

The next time that you run K-Meleon, the file will be rebuilt.

I tried your suggestion but it did not work. Perhaps I have the wrong appcomps.dll

The file properties are:
Size: 215,552 bytes
Creation Date: 11/23/01

If this is not the file, where can it be downloaded?

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

Download the files from here:

Andrew,
I appreciate your help, but downloading the file did not solve the problem (I also deleted the component.reg file). I still get the save box when trying to browse an ftp site such as ftp.microsoft.com.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

Delete the component.reg file and also delete the two .DAT files in the components directory and the 5 RDF files in the chrome directory. All get rebuilt when K-Meleon is launched.

Andrew,
I followed you instructions, but am still unable to browse an FTP directory using K-Meleon. I guess I will have to use the command prompt.

Thanks,
Dan
