Recommended email program?

What would you guys recommend for an email program to use in conjunction with K-meleon. Normally people either use Netscape communicator, and Microsoft IE and outlook. With all the security problems with microsofts software, what would you guys recommend as an alternative to outlook. thanks...

I think Kaufman Mail Warrior is by far the best. It's free, small and quite firm as it basically does not support html, javascript or any other fancy stuff. However, I use it all the time and it satisfies all my needs. I have also tried Peagsus, Eudora, Bat, Scribe and a lot of other programs: they all had their shortcomings.

BTW, use KMW version 3.57, if you can get it from somewhere (version 3.61 has been unstable if the pop3 server is down - 3.57 works excellently).

I have tried all of the e-mail programs mentioned here too and haven't found that I want to use. I would like to use K-Meleon as my main browser rather than bloated Mozilla when I finally stop using Netscape 4.x.

Other ones I have tired include Vivian Mail and AK-Mail. AK-Mail is ok, but it uses IE to display HTML messages.

I would perfer something that doesn't use IE, but can at least display HTML decently. Using Gecko would be great, but I can't find a good one. I would also like it to use Unix mailbox format so I can easily change programs again someday. It also must have some sort of filtering.

Is there anyone working on an e-mail program with Gecko like that?

Mozilla of course :-)

it ONLY lacks
spell checker [although I heard you can use NS4.7 plugin for it]
palm address syncing
SMIME
...

POPCORN is the best mail checker I've used. It can delete mail right off the server in case it is a flood, virus, spam

My choice
mozilla set up for email, newsgroups
kmeleon for default browser [with popup blocking]
IE with iDecide [cookie blocking] and anon proxy for Java sites

Calypso 3 is still available. I've taken to using it, because it shows HTML. NTP

PS
I notice Rocket has it available for download.

Hmm it appears MCS has taken down their Calypso page. Well I think I have the zip file around here somewhere.

IMHO, I recommend Eudora. A big program, a little slow, but soooo stable and powerfull...
I tried Kaufman Mail Warrior, very nice, but it seems to have problems if you use to have a very lot of mails.
If you understand french, what about trying Gaston ? Very amazing, and you can delete your POP3 mails directly on the server !

Ok,,I have tried all the above email programs,,and I have been using for a year now Becky Internet Email,,its compact,,offers filtering,,uses very little memory,,and will start up minimized to the sys tray if desired and minimize to the systray..As far as i have tried all the other email programs,,Becky is the best choice,,don't beleive me check it out at http://www.rimarts.co.jp/ it also has spell checker and all.I really like it the very best. And for filtering it offers the Filter TO:,,as to filter out email that does not have your email address in it,,that will just about eliminate all spam because 99% of spam won't actually have your email address in the TO: field.
