Uninstall (the hard way)

I, um, sneaked KM onto a system where the Start menu is partially locked down [but I can download and run random EXE's -- go figure]. So if I want to remove KM (to install the next improved version, of course) I can't use the Add/Remove wizard. Will launching the KM uninstaller EXE do the job, or will that miss some important details known only to Windoze?

i suspect you'll be ok if you didn't make k-meleon the default browser... maybe just run regedit (if you can) afterwards, and search on 'k-meleon'.

at least, that's the case on my win98 system... your mileage...etc...

Maybe I'll just leave it be, and sneak the *next* KM rev onto a
different box smiling smiley I think they might be re-ghosting the
hardrives every month anyway ... that would solve the prob too

Hmmm.... If you can run random exe's... You may be able to use the command line to run c:\windows\system32\control.exe (that's what it is on my computer... it may also be in c:\windows\control.exe or c:\windows\system\control.exe, not sure) to get to the control panel. Though if these people have any intelligence at all, they will have locked it, but there's a possibility that will work...

You can just run the uninstaller, that's all the add/remove programs thingy does anyway...
