Plug-ins

I find it annoying that K-meleon is released with no plug-ins whatsoever. While I understand the reason for this, I do not understand why the authors haven't put together a page with direct links to the more familiar plug-ins such as Java, Shockwave or RealPlayer.

Max,

You can grab plugins from here:

http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/resources/

More plugins are available from Netscape here:

http://home.netscape.com/plugins/index.html

I'll add those links into the Docs. section.

Hi Andrew!

I am new to K-Meleon and would be pleased to ditch Netscape and M$. I use pegasus as my emailer.

This plugin thing has got me. With the others when a plugin is needed it just goes, gets and instals. With K-Meleon it says I need it, opens new window and thats as far as it goes.

What can I do next to get and install a plugin?

Check my older (or should it be 'elder'?) post also:

Thanks Guy's.

I may not be ready yet for KM. I don't have netscape on this machine as it just crashed too much so I reluctantly went back to ie 5.5. It works but it is M$.

I have java enabled in KM. I go to a page that requires an image viewer (web cam), it tels me I need a plugin and to click here to get plugin but nothing happens after it opens a new window.

I am not using pegasus on this machine and I will use KM if it works better than ie 5.5 on the machine with pegasus. I am experimenting on a PC that is not my main inet computer for safetys sake, eh.

Dave, if its a Java problem have a look at the
<a href="http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?f=1&i=2082&t=2057">http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?f=1&i=2082&t=2057</a>;
thread and see if it helps. Most of the plugins can be tricked to work with K-M.

I use K-M as well as Pegasus.
I don't see what the you mean by linking K-M and Pegasus.
I can display images from within Pegasus (now in 4.01) as well as with an external program.
With K-M images and webcams I know of are just displaying fine.

Can you provide a url for the webcal sites, that requires a special plugin?
I can make a test if you want.

It works okay now thanks Guy's!

I went to the resource link at KM and folowed the clues. I must say that the java site was a bit confusing and with a bit of playing around - it works!

Mind you, I stuffed up the other machines ie 5.5 as it don't seem to like that jre thingy.

Thanks again.
