Dialog box asking for password/log-in crashes KM

KM always crashes when the site I use to manage my domain name
asks me for a login name and password. In Netscape it displays the usual rectangular grey box and proceeds without problem. Is there a way of getting KM to accept and display these boxes?

I believe it is a bug, and been reported here before.

The reason is due to two entries in a file, after you typed in the wrong UID/password first time around.

To fix, navigate to ~\K-Meleon\Profiles\default\xxxxxx.slt\

and open the numbered .s (e.g. 123456.s) file in a text editor.

Scroll down and locate the section(s) that relate to the domain name site you are trying to get into (there will be two - or more - entries). Remove them all ~carefully~ observing the syntax of the other entries.

Restart K-Meleon, and try the site again... with luck, you should get in OK now.

That's great - thank you very much Nick - that seems to have sorted it out.
