I am unable to use dialpad pc to phone because when I log on to the site(www.dialpad.com) I get the message "java must be enabled" to start the call applet . I checked if kmeleon recognizes jre1.3 and it did (by typing about:plugins on the address bar. But under preferences/plugins java is not listed. Please advise as I am really beginning to like kmeleon.

Only K-Meleon's own plugins are listed under Preferences - Plugins. Recognized 3rd party plugins, like Java, will appear when you enter "about:plugins". It sounds like it might be an issue with the site itself. I'll try to do some testing on that and report back.

I wasn't able to get into the part of the site to test this. Maybe you can copy the page source and send it to me? My e-mail is under Help - About.

You have to register in order to have access to the page where the applet is. Sorry but for obvious reason I cannot give you the source to my dialpad account page. Thanks anyway for your help.

Be sure java enabled is checked, under Preferences - General?

Do you have your browser ID set the default?

If you mean set as IE 5.5 yes .

That's your problem. Java only works when the browser ID is set to default, which is not IE 5.5. Reset the ID to default and try again.
