illeagal operation box

I've noticed that I get the illegal operation dialog box far more often with km than with any other browser I've use, which causes me to shut down the program. It usally happens when doing a google search and clicking from one link to another. I don't always let a page fully load before clicking to another. I also got the box when logging off from snapfish.com. The most recent one that cropped up happens EVERY time that I log onto the home page of email.com. Below is the details from that error box:

K-MELEON caused an invalid page fault in
module WALLET.DLL at 017f:60bc976b.

Is there something that I have messed up in my settings?

I suppose you could cure that by removing wallet.dll and wallet.xpt from K-Meleon\components (don't delete, just move them somewhere else) and then deleting components.reg in your K-Meleon directory (that file should regenerate itself when K-Meleon is started again.

When you do all that be sure to have K-Meleon closed and the loader not working. I am not 100% sure but that may help. If it does not help, copy the wallet files back and delete components.reg again while K-Meleon is closed.

one possible cause of this is trying have k-meleon remember two different logins for the same domain... you might want to check your 'xxxxxxxx.s' file, while you're at it.

Po's solution is probably better. Mine was quite violent (although I am not using the wallet files myself).

Po, thanks for the suggestion.
I will try it as soon as I find out where to find the xxxxxxx's file.

Timoch,

Po is referring to the file that has a filename of a random number and a file extension of "s" (eg. 1234567.s).

In my system it is under....

C:\Program Files\K-Meleon\Profiles\default\nnnnnnnn.slt\..

There is a known bug where if you save more than one username/password you will get the error that you encountered. You can either try editing this file using a text editor to remove the offending username/password... or delete the file entirely and it will recreate itself.
