Automatic proxy configuration URL "FIX"

Well I've followed the instructions from another posting about fixing the Automatic proxy configuration URL problem. I downloaded the necessary files, put them into the Components directory, and things worked fine initially, HOWEVER!!!! After rebooting (restarting my computer), I started K-meleon up, and voila! the blank page / nothing happens situation returns. I then copyed the files across AGAIN, and the problem disappears temporarily.
Seems to me that something is happening whenever I reboot or start-up my computer for the day, seems like the files are being removed or something. I always use the "default" profile, and I never change preferences much either.
Anybody else experiencing this?

Al,

You'll need to close K-Meleon and nuke these files:

In "C:\Program Files\K-Meleon":

component.reg

In "C:\Program Files\K-Meleon\components":

xpti.dat
xptitemp.dat

You might have to delete all of the RDF files in this directory:

C:\Program Files\K-Meleon\chrome

All of the files get rebuilt the next time that you run K-Meleon.
