KM and Microsoft VM

A few things are puzzling me about IE and relationship with Java...

IE version 5 has the Microsoft VM (Java Virtual Machine, but they
don't want to use the word "Java").
Does this VM work with KM?

If it does, can IE5 be uninstalled, leaving the VM behind?

Also, I understand IE6 doesn't have the VM? So, is it offered as an
option during install, or what?

Regards,

The only java VM which K-Meleon will run is the Sun Java VM. Why would you want K-Meleon to run Microsoft's security-hole ridden VM?

Because Sun Java plugin version 1.3 doesn't work with Lotus Notes Web-based client?

I would contact the Lotus people then. Their software (Notes!!) is worse than M$ stuff.

In my recent HellWeek changeover to a new drive and fresh Windows, I installed IE5.5 just to get the upgrade files and have the pleasure of uninstalling it. So far I am peacefully Java-free.
Tempted, though... it's on my ISP disk too. smiling smiley There are some useful things done with it, unfortunately.
Oh, quit complaining, she yelled at herself. Anything gets abused. smiling smiley
