General discussion about K-Meleon
ftp directories

Hi,

I just installed K-Meleon for the first time. It's great - I always looked for
a light weight browser on windows.

Well, however, I immediately had a problem when I tried to browse an
ftp server. Does K-Meleon support the display and navigation of ftp directories
like IE and Netscape?
If so - how? I only managed to get the directory as a downloadable file :-(

Thanks,
Ulf

Ulf,

This was a bug with 0.6. Go to this page:

http://tln.lib.mi.us/~amutch/pro/kmeleon/khistfiles.htm

and download the appcomps.dll file. Follow the instructions there on where to copy it and you should then have FTP support enabled. In K-Meleon 0.7, FTP support won't require any extra files to be enabled.

Thanks, Andrew! I did as you suggested and it works now.
BTW, I tried to find information about this problem before
I posted by searching the forums for `ftp'. Unfortunately I
had not found the solution. So I'm sorry if this has been
a FAQ...
Thanks again,
Ulf

P.S.: I'm posting this using K-Meleon - is it normal that I
can't navigate through the text by cursor keys?
