Java Warning Problem

Hello, I can't seen to make java work on K-meleon. Java 1.3 is installed in my system. Everytime I enter a site with java, a "java warning cannot get proxy configuration error" appears on the screen. Do I have to copy the dlls to the k-meleon folder?

Peter,

With that version of Java, try changing your browser identification to Netscape 6 under:

Edit - Preferences - Privacy - Browser Identification

If you can, upgrade to Java 1.4. Our next release will automatically identify the version of Java that you have and use it.

"Do I have to copy the dlls to the k-meleon folder?"

No you don't need to.

Do you have to configure a proxy for net access?

isn't 1.4 any better (or faster) than 1.3?

Yes, I've found 1.4 to be better.
