Hello all, I'm new to K-Meleon I relly like it, anyway I was using it yesterday because I could not attach files at Hotmail using Mozilla anymore (anymore is key here it used to work no changes were done on my setup) so I used K-Meleon and no problems I could attache using Hotmail the problem was I couldn't see the attach button. Now I changed the ID to default instead of MSIE 5.5 now I can't see the attach button in Hotmail!!!! Can anyone explain this other then a strong arm tactic by MS to use their product? Or am I just a little paranoid?;-) BTW after reverting back to the MSIE 5.5 all is fine I can use the attachement button as it is back!
No, you are not paranoid. It is just Microsoft which does not like anybody to use other products, but it seems to be fooled by the change in User Agent. This is not common. I will have to test it with some sites which would not work in Mozilla, even if I changed the User Agent. So, count your blessings, for now.
change user-agent string to netscape one:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0
and it works.
