Calling k-meleon with options

Hi there!

I'm running k-meleon Version (0.7 Build 700) on WinXP and want to start it with the actual user profile:

D:\the\long\path\to\k-meleon.exe -P %USERNAME% http://www.blah.com

This works fine so far, but not in the file-type association (sorry, don't know exactly how this is called in english). When I put the above string (only exchange http://www.blah.com with %1):

D:\the\long\path\to\k-meleon.exe -P %USERNAME% %1

into the dialog for http- and https-protocol and html- and htm-files k-meleon always shows the "which-profile-dialog".

Hope I could make myself clear!

Any ideas, someone?

What happens when you try it? Just doesn't work?

If you get hard pressed for an answer, try making a shortcut with the profile info. Then associate that and add %1.

Shortcut cmd: D:\the\long\path\to\k-meleon.exe -P %USERNAME%
Registry cmd: D:\the\long\path\to\k-meleon.lnk %1

I'm having some association problems too. Tell us what happens, and well see if we can set you up. Actually, if you want to try my idea as a temp-fix, go for it. I'ld like to do it straight from the reg though.

Wait... you put the user name in just like that? Hmmm... I haven't used user names in the reg before. I wonder if it can handle it. Should be able to. Looks like I'm going to learn something on this one.

No, k-meleon comes up with the select-user-profile dialog.

Sorry, doesn't work. I put your suggestion directly into the reg, but nothing happens when I click on a link. And trying to to put it into the file-type-dialog from explorer doesn't work, because links aren't accepted here.

Me too. Up till now I tried everything in the explorer dialog where you can tell windows which program should be used for which extension.

Thanx anyway!
