I'm having trouble, when I apply a background theme or a button set they are all messed up and mixed together, making them unreconizable and the file,edit toolbar unreadable, what am I doing wrong.
Could be a few different reasons. First make sure you downloaded the right skin for KM 0.7 and not KM 0.6. Also, all skins from resources section come with their own toolbars.cfg file. If you want to replace the skins toolbars.cfg file with your customized version of toolbars.cfg you'll have to copy the height and width dimensions located next to each toolbar name from the skin's toolbars.cfg file to your customized toolbars.cfg file. It defaults to (16, 16) if none are specified. Unfortunately documentation on skins/themes is sparse at best so I can't direct you to an area to read other than the top of the toolbars.cfg file.
