Do the tips and tricks for Phoenix such as page rendering by creating and editing the usre.js file apply to K-meleon?

Generally yes, since they use the same engine. Some things won't work though, but just try and see.
This is BTW true for all other Geckobased browsers too. If you hear about a pref in one, it's likely that the other have it too.

Thx Stefan, I had created the text file and appreciate your reply, I'm impressed with K-Meleon but find Phoenix about the same in performance and better at applying themes. K-Meleon is great, just a nice piece of work and not many bugs when compared to IE and Opera especially which in my opinion is slower than the Gecko Browsers.
