K-Meleon on Windows ME

Can somebody tell me how to run K-Meleon on Windows ME ?
First, after installation, during first run it has asked for a "msvcr71.DLL". Addded DLL to Win/System and K-Meleon dir. Now it doesn't ask anything. Only few seconds of disk activity and nothing happens when you try to run it. No error message, nothing...

As far as I understand this You proceeded correctly & the dll are also well placed in k-meleon directory & system because that way You are sure that they are found by k-meleon.

- next fault should have promted You for the next *.dll ;-) (= next error message since 3 extra dll are needed with 7z installer )

But i did not for some reason prompt/error You to find the next dll :-(

You will find installer for all three needed runtime dll on http://www.lontronics.nl/index.php?m=0006 in the middle of the page.
It was placed there for an older static k-meleon build (which was quite fast).

Alternatively You can use the k-meleon1.02.exe installer from Source Forge (that has the 3 needed dll included ).

Else You can use what looks like a VC 6 version that is available in Russian and English.

It was advertized: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,25998,page=4
at the bottom by Quicksilver Tears. It is AFAIK good for Win ME to use without extra VC 7 dll.

You can also try to register these dll with this command:

regsvr32 c:\windows\system\msvcr71.DLL

It will perhaps works.

Thanks all for prompt support!
