Hi, some web page refresh itself even without java/script enabled.
Is there any settings that would prevent this.
Thanks

Cache refresh is by default on automtic:
Try different values such as Once Per Session - That should have the desired effect
(but all pages do it then ).

Thankyou for replying.
Sorry question was not clear, it is not about the cache.
I mean the web page send you to some 'other' site after a little while without your clicking anything.
The tag in the html source look like this: (??? is deleted)
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="8;url=http://www.???.info/cgi-bin/go.cgi?site_id=12286">

Happy new year.

I am sorry, that i di not understand - I am German i do not speak English well;

Meta: "refresh" or whatever they call it in English.

I am sorry - but i do not know a sure way (that i have tested myself) to avoid that with any browser. The tag is supposted send You away. The only thing that i know that You can try.

Go to about : config or go to advanced configuration panel
( I can not write it together - like it must be written - else we may get a smilly :p)

Here You would look for the value for permitted redirections and set it to zero.

The term is: network.http.redirection-limit and the default is tweenty.

But this is no usefull setting for every day. So it might be abandoned and useless.

btw: if You do not know a setting about:config is the place to find it.
explanations of usefull settings are similar for all gecko browsers.

just google the term - one is in k-meleon wiki.

Quan Kieu,

Have you figured out how to do this? It seems that you need to set network.http.redirection-limit to 0 to disable redirection, but that would break a lot of sites.

Hi, rmn.
I wouldn't mind breaking any site that use this tag.
I've just tried your suggestion.
K-meleon still leaves the current page but would throw a 'Redirect Loop' error.
Google found lot of (meta http-equiv) discussions.
This tag seems to be used to curb your browser disallowing java.
Without any blocking, they will send you to any 'C-a-s-i-n-o' site they want.
It can be embarassing when surfing at work, suddenly a XXX site show up.
