hi

can some help me please i wish to know how to set up a new profile so i dont over ride the version of k melon i have on right now can some tell me how to do it please


and where can i get hold of the lastest beta version so i can try and out and see what has changed and may be help you tell it as well

this is all new to me and i may need more help

IMHO 2 possible solutions:

0.) whatever You do makes sure to backup Your current k-meleon profiles
which You best find via Edit > Configuration > Profile Folders.
And You do not start anything without that backup to a safe location.
Best backup the whole Profiles folder with all data.

1.) profiles in install folder - You choose AFAIK on install no multiple user
support. That way k-meleon creates a profile.ini which forces that.
Check whether the file exist before You start the beast. That is what i use.
( that is also good to use the same profile with several different Windows-OS)

2.) You create an extra test profile with Your current k-meleon and set Profile manager to ask You at startup. Then You chose the test Profile. That should work also.

Lastest beta version is posted in the thread at the top of General.

p. s. Devs use up time fast - & this is a hobby - seems nothing going on right now - all catching up with normal chores.

Wait: I overlooked that its no full installer.
You must create profile.ini. And place it into install folder - if You want to do it like me. No specifications empty file is supfficiant else You can write inside:

[profile]
path=profiles
isrelatife=1


The download is a 7zip archive. Copy to the folder where You want to unpack it.
Right click on it and choose to unpack it. IF Your archiver does not support 7zip archive type. http://www.7-zip.org/
Next You go into the folder and create a shortcut for the exe to destop.
And do not forget to place the profile.ini insite if You want to do it the way i do. Else remember to create a test profile like described in 2.).
