I did this when I tried Opera, but cannot seem to find how to do it in K-Meleon.
Yes, I did look in the FAQ but does not do anything. I restarted my computer after doing so and still nothing.
Thankyou
Marvin

It will do nothing automatically. It is because k-meleon can use Firefox "bookmarks.html" (that is the name of the file that stores the bookmarks ).
Just copy the file to Your k-meleon profile, they are next to each other & You will
find Your K-Meleon profile via Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory
Firefox Profiles is close by - a subfolder in the same main Appdata folder.
Care k-meleon uses an older version of bookmarks.html - it will damage the icons in firefox bookmarks.html as soon as it writes them // so copy the file over but never copy it back to FFox.
Another thing that You can do You can bookmark a bookmarks.html e. g. that of FFox.
That way You can use the links but You cannot write inside and damage the file.
Another info: there are plugins that You can activate to use IE Favorites and Opera Hotlist directly.
thx for reading my psot

I must be slow.
I copy the bookmarks folder to edit-cofiguration-profile directory
AND it just reverts back to the original file that has nothing in it.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you

Sorry my fault I am not English ;-) // bookmarks.html is a file.
You possibly found another "new" bookmarks file (they are empty when they are new ).
You find the Firefox bookmarks.html
Firefox: %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles[Profilname][random string].slt\bookmarks.html
source:
http://www.holgermetzger.de/pdl.html
You can compare this with K-Meleon default location.
K-Meleon: %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\K-Meleon\Profiles[Profilname][random string].slt\bookmarks.html
The first [Profilname] is normally default.
p. s. K-Meleon can have another place when You choose that on install / that is in his own directory. But most ppl on NT base windows do not choose that.

That's the wrong place. You need to put the bookmarks file into your profile, which is either where guenter says (if you chose the mutliuser option during install), or in Program Files\K-Meleon\Profiles\default[random string].slt\bookmarks.html

If You placed them there just create a new profile.
You placed the bookmarls.html into the place from where k-meleon takes the files to create it new profiles.
Now all new profiles will have these Firefox bookmarks.html

Edit > Manage Profiles > checkbox ask at startup.
Later You uncheck it after You started the Profile that You want.
(that way it will start the last selected Profile automatically).
When You are sure taht all works ok, You can delete a unwanted Profile.
BTW. If a something goes wrong & manage to break something - the easiest way to get
most things repaired is to create a new Profile.
