FireFox + K-Meleon

My favourit E-mail program is FF, my browser KM.

But
always when a mail shows a link and I double-click it, another of my browsers opens but NOT K-Meleon.

How can I force that the browser of my choice (KM) opens ?

caprivi,

Click on Edit/Advanced Preferences/Browsing, then click on the box that says "Set As Default Browser" and that should do it.

Sorry, I made a mistake. Mozilla's E-mail program is THUNDERBIRD, not Firefox.

So I raised this subject again under the correted name.

Bu to answer your proposal: I did so, without success.
Avant-Browser opens instead of K-Meleon.

Caprivi,

Should have worked. In your Control Panel Internet settings, look to see if IE is stealing focus.

Another possibility is to use a 3rd party utility to set your browser preference.

One such is : SetBrowser 1.4

http://www.pc-tools.net/win32/setbrowser/

As it says, a last resort application. Works for me when I change between IE and K-Meleon. I just answer the query in SetBrowser to set it up for Netscape and then give it the exact location of K-Meleon. At that point, SetBrowser says that K-meleon.exe is the default browser and it works for me.

Links should be clicked, not double-clicked.

Thanks for the assistence.
In the meantime I de-installed that other browser and installed Beta of version 1.1
and everything works well - besides 2 minor bugs.

thx for feedback.
please report the 2 discerpancies - especially with old windows 95/ME devs need that.

btw. der fehler bei doppelclick = derselbe nur 2X, wenn einer ist.
Du kannst durch zwischen-installation von irgendwas e.g. FF der IE mögl. registry fehler wegdrücken. mfG aus Hannover guenter
