Import/Export Bookmarks for K-Meleon.

- What is it?
==============

This is an external tool for bookmark files managing. With this tool you can Import & Export your bookmarks. For example you can easily import your bookmarks from other Mozilla browsers, as FireFox, SeaMonkey or older K-Meleon versions, to your current K-Meleon bookmarks and use it in K-Meleon (imported bookmarks will be added to K-Meleon bookmarks file). Export can be used to copy or backup your bookmarks.

Import/Export Bookmarks (I-EBookmarks) it's very easy to use; no menus, no configurable options, clear interface, no install is needed and is easy to transport; all is in only one independent EXE file very light in size (235 K.

This tool is experimental and has not being sufficiently tested in all platforms and systems.

I-EBookmarks might work over all K-Meleon version, mods and translations (olds and futures), but has only been tested in K-Meleon 1.1 version.

I-EBookmarks can be used for other bookmarks of Mozilla family browsers. You can use it freely but at your own risk.

I-EBookmarks is an UNOFFICIAL tool and probably only this version (0.2) will be released. I hope this will be included in official Bookmarks.dll plugin soon.

I made this tool to prove that it was possible and easy to do; if I can make it, everybody cans.

I-EBookmarks 0.2 version does not support selectable export of bookmarks. (This will be implemented for next version ... If there's a next version)

Sorry, this version is only available in 'inglish' language (bad english ) because it's the most internationally (un)known language XD. But it's very intuitive and easy to use, and it uses plain and basic english words. (If you don't like this, next version may only be in spanish )

I-EBookmarks have been built with about 350 lines of AutoIt3 script language v3.2.2.0 code.

+ Added Opera Hotlist import support in this 0.2 version.

Es muy sencillo, tu solo has de descomprimir el archivo zip en la carpeta de K-Meleon. El archivo contenido en el zip (I-EBookmarks.exe) esta definido para descomprimirse generando una determinada ruta de carpetas o subdirectorios (Tools\I-EBookmarks\). Es decir, tu seleccionarás para descomprimir la carpeta de K-Meleon, por ejemplo; C:\Archivos de Programas\K-Meleon, pero tras descomprimir el zip, verás que te crea una carpeta "Tools" que contiene un subdirectorio llamado "I-EBookmarks", en este último es donde se encuentra el archivo ejecutable "I-EBookmarks.exe". En el ejemplo, el archivo I-EBookmarks.exe lo encontrarás en la ruta; C:\Archivos de Programas\K-Meleon\Tools\I-EBookmarks\I-EBookmarks.exe

Esto es así para organizar mejor los archivos dentro de la carpeta de K-Meleon. En la versión oficial de K-Meleon no hay una carpeta "Tools", ya que no incluye ninguna herramienta externa como I-EBookmarks, pero esta carpeta si existe en otras versiones de K-Meleon como la Nauscópica de Maty o en K-Ninja. En esta carpeta se instalan las herramientas externas que usas habitualmente con K-Meleon.

hola,mira yo tengo un archivo bookmarks del mozilla en un discket (30k),lo copio al disco c ,ejecuto el programa I-EBookmarks.exe y en la segunda ventanita le indico la ruta del bookmark del mozilla ,presiono importar pero me sale un mensaje de error en ingles que dice que faltan 2 archivos.(en la ventana de arriba no se que poner).

Hola, esto es así porque en el primer campo (el de ariba) has de seleccionar el archivo bookmarks.html de K-Meleon (el destino de los marcadores que quieres añadir o importar) al que le quieres añadir los nuevos bookmarks de mozilla (que es el archivo origen que quieres importar y que tienes que seleccionar en el segundo campo, el de abajo).

El archivo bookmarks.html de K-Meleon lo encontrarás en el perfil del usuario de K-Meleon al que le quieras añadir los nuevos marcadores de mozilla. Los perfiles pueden estar en dos sitios diferentes, según la opción de instalación que hayas seleccionado.

1) Instalación Multiusuario: En este caso los perfiles de los usuarios de K-Meleon son guardados dentro de la carpeta del perfil de usuario de Windows. Suele ser una ruta de este tipo:
C:\Documents and Settings[nombre_usuario]\Datos de programa\K-Meleon\default\????????.slt\bookmarks.html

2) Creación de Perfiles en la carpeta de instalación de K-Meleon:
Esta es la opción tomada cuando no se selecciona la anterior o se crea/copia un archivo profile.ini en la carpeta de instalación de K-Meleon. El contenido del archivo profile.ini es el siguiente:

IsRelative=1

Este archivo obliga a K-Meleon a crear los perfiles de los distintos usuarios de K-Meleon en el subdirectorio "Profiles" dentro de la carpeta de instalación de K-Meleon. Por ejemplo, sería una ruta similar a la siguiente;
C:\Archivos de programa\K-Meleon\Profiles\default\????????.slt\bookmarks.html

Para asegurarte de qué archivo bookmarks.html es el que estas usando en el perfil actual de K-Meleon, puedes ver su ruta en el menú:
Editar -> Preferencias -> Plugins
Aquí selecciona el "Plugin Marcadores de Netscape" y pulsa el botón "Configurar...". Te aparecerá cual es la ruta del "Archivo de Marcadores" que esta siendo utilizado por el perfil cargado. (Bastaría con copiar esta ruta y pegarla en el primer campo de I-EBookmarks)

Hola a todos.
Siguiendo en esta línea, ¿hay algo parecido para poder importar/exportar a/desde K-Meleon los marcadores de Opera? De momento, esta muy útil herramienta de Desga-2, ¿sólo vale para los navegadores basados en Mozilla?

Ya lo había probado, pero no puede funcionar por el topo de archivo: los bookmarks en Opera están en el archivo "opera6.adr". Y el problema está en que al ejecutar el archivo "I-Ebookmarks.exe", a la hora de importar o exportar el ejecutable sólo te permite buscar entre archivos con extensiones las extensiones propias de los bookmarks de la familia Mozilla (*.htm, *.html). Por esta razón no veo la forma de poder importar-exportar a/de Opera.
Otra vez será...

La verdad es que no funcionaría porque el formato de los archivos de Opera es diferente. Tendrás que esperar a que lo implemente en la siguiente versión.
Para poder incluirlo debes mandarme un archivo Hotlist de Opera de ejemplo ya que sólo tengo acceso a los que crea K-Meleon y los originales de Opera pueden ser diferentes.

I just downloaded and installed K-Meleon 1.1.3

I also downloaded I-EBookmarks tool

It says to unzip I-EBookmarks.exe in --/tools/i-ebookmarks

I cannot find a "tools" folder in this version of K-Meleon

I wish to import my bookmarks from Firefox.

This worked fine the first couple of times, when I imported my Firefox (2.0.0.11) bookmarks into K-Meleon (1.1.3). However, now, doing this causes the K-Meleon config to revert back to a previous one. The first attempt to start, after the import, gives "Could not Create Browser Frame." The next attempt presents the dialog to reload a previously installed plugin (in my case, SearchBar), and I have to reconfig everything.

Any ideas?

Are you using I-EBookmarks with K-Meleon running? Try exit to K-Meleon before.

This error is very rare, I-EBookmarks only modify bookmarks.html file and none pref or config is modificated. Your error indicate that a new profile had been created because old profile is corrupted.

Before use I-EBookmarks you must checked if bookmarks plugin is enable in K-Meleon and a bookmarks.html file exist in your selected profile.

Can you give me more info; Windows version, Firefox's bookmarks.html file size to import, some capture of I-EBookmarks configuration before import file and K-Meleon error message?

Hi, desga2.

This happens with and without K-Meleon running.

I forgot to mention that I had to replace the new bookmarks.html with the backup version, in order to get K-Meleon working right again. This backup is from the last successful run of I-EBookmarks.

I don't see any new profiles. Looks like the same default profile gets overwritten.

The Netscape Bookmarks plugin is enabled. IE Favorites plugin is disabled, since I don't use it.

Windows XP Pro, SP2
Firefox bookmarks.html (imported) size: 2.12 MB

I don't have error info other than what I provided in my last message. I couldn't find any K-Meleon or I-EBookmarks logs. As for I-EBookmarks config, there is no config/pref file. I don't have a menu item for it, I launch it from the Tools/... location, and provide the locations of the source (FF) and destination (KM) files for import.

FYI...

What I described above also happened when I enabled the IE Favorites plugin, and tried to import IE Favorites.
