I've installed your AdBlockPlus but it's not working. In the Preference->Plugins page, the AdBlockPlus showed red although ticked.
This plugin is the most wanted I believe. I'm looking forward to a working upgrade.

This blog entry is of special interest for adblock for k-meleon 1.1.
The features discussed there IMHO make adblock the most advanced and integrated 3rd party K-Meleon 1.1 extension. I am very thankfull the adblock developrs.
btw. if a Chinese K-Meleon 1.1 existed there might be a Chinese adblock for K-Meleon 1.1 also.

I have found a little problem with ProfileBackup:
If you change the locale on a profile, the name of backup folders changes:
1-Sunday >> 1-Dimanche,
then we have two folders for the same day.
It must probably better not to translate the day name, or to keep the name (when existing) on the 3 first characters.

ProfileBackup: The later change of letters would be usefull only to some Europeans.
We have to accept this bug or feature? A change of used language will indicate a change of users (another user with a different language preference and probably another profile? but a general backup location? ). Some basic things like Search settings ... may not be the same if You change language. They should be logically / even if it is not implememted when using the same profile.
The words show You that You must not update/repair a de-DE profile with data from Dimanche but look for Sonnatg's data.
I wonder - who is Wicktor Pallant? Do I know him?
guenter, I wonder whether a Chinese K-Meleon can exist - as far as I can see K-Meleon has major issues with Unicode support. But if somebody pointed me to one, I would make Adblock Plus compatible of course.

AFAIK an official 1.1 zh-CN is planed. Let us hope that unicode will work for that.
I can read the URLs of posters that is why I wrote that if an official version existed You would likely support the specific language version. And I thank You that You have included K-Meleon into Your supported browsers list.
p. s. Chinese zh-CN K-Meleon versions/translations exist since K-Meleon 0.82+.

That right for Orbit. Setup added
A trick, as for some netscape plugins, Orbit plugins
(installed in Program Files\OrbitDownloader\addons)
and called nporbit.dll must be copied in k-meleon plugins folder.
It's then possible to manage extensions to be opened automaticly by orbit.
F2 > File Types ...

guenter, thanks - I wasn't aware of these translations. They aren't Unicode-enabled either but rather use GB2312 encoding, meaning that I can use the same trick as with the Russian version.

I unzipped this file in my K-Meleon folder (that's all I have to do, right?), all that changed was that the No Script button showed up, but it wouldn't block Java nor Flash (I went to youtube to see if it worked) nor Javascript (I was able to check my webmail with NoScript activated). Whenever I clicked the Options or About button in the NoScript menu, nothing happened either.
Exactly what happened with me. Thought I must be doing something wrong.
Although I previously said that NoScript was working fine with me (which is still true) I controlled the sayings of 1832 and Richard and they are right: in the experimental NOscript extension 1.7 there is no noscript.manifest, noscriptService.js and noscript.js installed or set in the right folders. I wonder why because with the macro noscript extension 1.6 it all worked perfectly except for the fact that the options were in German.
Maybe this can help somebody.

the zipped prototype of the exe installer which does not delete compreg.dat an xpi.dat in components.
Remedy: delete them by hand or use the compiled exe installer further down on the same page.
p.s. these prototypes are there on that page as examples for users that create another extension.

yes, I have forgotten noscript.js in default/pref, but it seems not to be necessary, as it works.

as guenter says, the scripts aren't here to install the extensions but just to give the script as examples. They obviously don't delete dat files in components folder, for example.

OK - those that do not have the noscript.js in preferences can add the following to any js (noscript or other name) in defaults/preferences/any.js . All lines are long and start with pref (even if they are not shown as long single lines in Forum). As alain pointed out, the extension works without these. The strings? Some add good functionality or prevent that noscript applies its rules to the wrong files (e.g. the javascript in the error pages is empted from noscript rules ) some are 4 FF only.
If You have any trouble or do not know how - please download the compiled noscript extension by alain and start it. It autoseaks the last installed k-meleon and performs the install automatically. Only users that want to guide it to an older k-meleon install have to do anything. The zips are for users that want to add an extension of their to our comunties disposal and for users that want extra control and want to inspect what is installed. So in case You stumble on a usable Firefox extension feel free to create an extension using alain's prototypes. We have too few devs - either we user do it or we do not get much.

I made the NoScript extension work when I deleted the .dat files you mentioned, thanks Jujuland. I also downloaded the wxDownloadFast extension, pretty good. Tip: The spanish translation for "Download with: " isn't "Cargar con: " but "Descargar con: ".

I fully agrre with foobarly: I think there should be a place and a macro extension for Orbit in K-Meleon. Would be very nice.

That right for Orbit. Setup added
A trick, as for some netscape plugins, Orbit plugins
(installed in Program Files\OrbitDownloader\addons)
and called nporbit.dll must be copied in k-meleon plugins folder.
It's then possible to manage extensions to be opened automaticly by orbit.
F2 > File Types ...

With me the NoScript extention and the microRSS extention work perfectly within K-Meleon 1.1. Didn't do something special, just installed them.

guenter, thanks - I wasn't aware of these translations. They aren't Unicode-enabled either but rather use GB2312 encoding, meaning that I can use the same trick as with the Russian version.

I unzipped this file in my K-Meleon folder (that's all I have to do, right?), all that changed was that the No Script button showed up, but it wouldn't block Java nor Flash (I went to youtube to see if it worked) nor Javascript (I was able to check my webmail with NoScript activated). Whenever I clicked the Options or About button in the NoScript menu, nothing happened either.

Although I previously said that NoScript was working fine with me (which is still true) I controlled the sayings of 1832 and Richard and they are right: in the experimental NOscript extension 1.7 there is no noscript.manifest, noscriptService.js and noscript.js installed or set in the right folders. I wonder why because with the macro noscript extension 1.6 it all worked perfectly except for the fact that the options were in German.
Maybe this can help somebody.

Remedy: delete them by hand or use the compiled exe installer further down on the same page.
p.s. these prototypes are there on that page as examples for users that create another extension.

yes, I have forgotten noscript.js in default/pref, but it seems not to be necessary, as it works.
@all,
as guenter says, the scripts aren't here to install the extensions but just to give the script as examples. They obviously don't delete dat files in components folder, for example.

OK - those that do not have the noscript.js in preferences can add the following to any js (noscript or other name) in defaults/preferences/any.js . All lines are long and start with pref (even if they are not shown as long single lines in Forum). As alain pointed out, the extension works without these. The strings? Some add good functionality or prevent that noscript applies its rules to the wrong files (e.g. the javascript in the error pages is empted from noscript rules ) some are 4 FF only.
If You have any trouble or do not know how - please download the compiled noscript extension by alain and start it. It autoseaks the last installed k-meleon and performs the install automatically. Only users that want to guide it to an older k-meleon install have to do anything. The zips are for users that want to add an extension of their to our comunties disposal and for users that want extra control and want to inspect what is installed. So in case You stumble on a usable Firefox extension feel free to create an extension using alain's prototypes. We have too few devs - either we user do it or we do not get much.

I made the NoScript extension work when I deleted the .dat files you mentioned, thanks Jujuland. I also downloaded the wxDownloadFast extension, pretty good. Tip: The spanish translation for "Download with: " isn't "Cargar con: " but "Descargar con: ".
