Is it possible to add firefox extension to K-meleon. Is there a online tutorial that I can use to find out how to install them?

You can find some extensions for K-Meleon on my site (Firefox adapted extensions or k-Meleon macros)

You can find setups and sources. With that, you can found some examples to adapt Firefox Extensions to K-Meleon.

But, take care that a lot of Firefox extension aren't adaptable to K-Meleon, the principal extensions (to my eyes) have been adapted, and the work is often difficult.

From what I've tested,
These will definetly work:
Stylish
NoScript
LiveHTTPHeaders
RefControl
Add-n-Edit Cookies
Tamper Data

These will somewhat work:
CookieCuller
DownloadThemAll

----------------------
- K-Meleon Macros and Extensions
- Greasify (Greasemonkey type macro for K-Meleon)
- Stylish for K-Meleon

Stylish: don't know about this extension

NoScript: adaptation already made
LiveHTTPHeaders: adaptation already made
RefControl: not needed with 1.x
Add-n-Edit Cookies: I have used it, but no more needed with 1.x
Tamper Data: don't know about this extension

CookieCuller: don't know about this extension
DownloadThemAll: have made it work, and something ennoying is this toolbar distinct from the K-Meleon's one.

Pandu, i would extract them from their xpi ( that is a zip with other name) or install them in Firefox (if possible with SeaMonkey) which also extracts them.
Then I distribute the files to the folders where they must go (to the same location/name in k-meleon folder).

Then i adapt the path of their chrome manifest file - so that it looks like in our manifest files. Then I adapt a kmm so that I can try to start them. When I am this far I start them and I look into Console2 (another extension that works and is part of K-Meleon install / alain found it for us ) whether my new extension creates errors. If it does I try to edit the files so that this stops. Like alains answer suggests i also learned to do so by looking at examples. So best look at one of the adapted extensions at his page first. Or downlaod and look at the structure of Console2.xpi and compare it with the one installed in Your K-Meleon.

There are some detailed descriptions in older forum posts.

alain, CookieCuller is a cookies manager and it works since K-Meleon 0.8
= that is as long as I have working LiveHTTPHeaders and mimetype editor smiling smiley

Not to be a jerk, but why bother?
Once you bog it down with extensions and hacked extensions, you might as well use FireFox. I love KMM for one thing. Simplicity. It does what I do out of the box. It does it very quickly. The only hack I did was for single window operation. Why have new windows then you can have 10k layers?

Hi Alain

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you K-meleon gurus! I am a FF user and I like it very much but K-Meleon blew my mind with its simplicity and speed. And thanks to this forum I can now also use some of the great FF extensions that I was missing :: for example noScript, Adblock, and downThemAll.

The world is a better place for people like you.

Cheers!

Juju, I do not think No script is 100 % compatible with Km 1.5.2 version.

I made a portable clean install. Sometimes I have to shut down No script to open a page (add to white list does not help). Dunno why ...

Basically, you can see if full compability exist if you click on No script button and the red sign dissapears. If not, is not fully compatible. smiling smiley

I know that on 1.5 version No script worked without any problems. I will download the previous versions and test them as well.

-because even with a few extensions, km still blows firefox away. (tho some folks do love to pile on loads of extensions, they might not really need, like accesories on a sports car.)

ah..a ricer user

i think those will be ff users..km users only use/ask for essential extensions, we don't have an extension like this one :

downthemall can't be converted for k-meleon. you can use orbit downloader(freeware) for the same function(download everything on a page) and use this extension to integrate it with k-meleon adapted by desgas:
http://two.xthost.info/kmeleon/extensions/K-Ext11X_OrbitDownloader.zip

make sure to install orbit downloader first
