I was attempting to solve another problem with bookmark add page (fixed). I managed to display bookmarks as a toolbar unwanted artifact. I deleted this toolbar & restarted. Both the personal & bookmark bars were gone. I attempted to set personal as toolbar from drop down menu. No joy. Folks - any ideas, suggestions for woody turnip :-D Greetings ZN
Have a look at Advanced Preferences - that is where it is configured.
You should get it configured from there unless You deleted a needed file.

p. s. Maybe install another k-m in folder with other name for experimenting
Give it a profile.ini (that gives it an old style profile inside install folder) or create an extra profile called experiments - You sure improved skill for breaking browser ( You must secretly trained this ever since You broke good old 0.8.1

One must have at least one skill - mine breaking browsers; did it to Opera, too, still working on cousin Foxy; just old turnip fallen off wagon, neolithic one ;-P But with your help from orginal home British monarchs, succeeded.
Went to Advanced Prefs as suggested; in the toolbar folder field typed in name folder: VOILA! :-o Thanks & greetings zeronero
