Will this work to update from 1.1 to 1.12, or is only to update from 1.11 to 1.12?

I presume,that the updater works for both of them,
or else the thread with the link to 1.11 would not
have been removed.

Couldn't you please implement a way of making the blank layer itself to be used for opening a new page when the user has set K-Meleon to open new layers from the address bar, the bookmarks etc.?

The bookmark toolbar crashs ? That's pretty obscure. Can we have more details, like what you're doing and what really happen?

I tried a clean install (+ new profile) and it works now.

Just for info:
What I was doing, as the problem appeared, I just updated k-m 1.1 to 1.12.
After that k-m crashed any time I click on the arrow on the toolbar or the word "Bookmarks" in the menu.

What I do not understand I had to delete the k-meleon directory in "documents and settings" in order to work again.

What you did when deleting the documents and settings folder was just to delete your users profile so a new one was created from the default one.

It's evident that there was something in your profile which was causing an error (a profile can be modified by the user, and sometimes you can modify something by error or without really knowing what you are doing), so it was not a problem from the browser or the updater.

I used an external program (http://sourceforge.net/projects/bookmarkbridge/) to merge my seamonkey bookmarks with k-meleon's.
Now I realized, it left an empty folder on the top of the bookmark list.
Removing that folder, k-meleon is not crashing even with the old profile.

Question about history plugin. I have the final 1.12 installed and history enabled. In advanced preferences for browsing history I have two sets of fields greyed out. They are "Keep a list of all pages visited in the last x days" under global and "Keep a list of x most recently visited locations" in URL bar. In both cases the check marks are there and values of 5 in global and 16 in URL bar can be seen. The 5 and 16 are the values in use. Why are these areas greyed out? Is this a bug?

I think it's a bug.

'Keep all pages visited last x days' can be modified, by:
Edit > Preferences > Plugins > History > Configurate
History can be unchecked by unchecking History only in the same box.
These parms ought to be modified from Advanced prefs too.

For the number of lines in URL history, I haven't found other way than:
Edit > Configuration > Browser Config > search maxURL, and modify the value.
For unchecking, I have tried the values 0 or -1, and nothing does the trick, after quiting/launching, the value by default (16) is restored.
These parms ought to be modified from Advanced prefs too.

I also think that these problems are bugs, but I suppose kko is on holidays, and will answer soon.

Failing to notice its beta state thanks to my feed reader, I tried updating. Not working for me, browser crashes imediately upon launching -- had to reinstall previous version over to get it back...

Note that disabeling the History Plugin does not disabble the history - the plugin is only used to view the history. To disable the history, set the number of days to keep the history to zero.

This option is disabled in Advanced Preferences because the maxURL pref can currently not be changed at runtime - you have to edit prefs.js while the browser is closed.

Regarding K-Meleon 1.1.2 (08/08/2007) I do not have a Bookmark problem but the
Favorites toolbar crashing problem is back. I have deleted the profile many
times and installed KM fresh several times. To work around the problem I cannot
just deactivate the favorites plugin. I have to delete it from K-Meleon. Does
anyone have suggestions? Thanks
