Search Engines and Proxies

I am not proficient at working with macros and other things which are not
for a complete novice. I need the easiest nontechnical modifications
possible. So I am in need of assistance please. Edit > Advanced Preferences >
Browsing > Finding Websites > Search Engines has a very impressive
list. Is there a standard way to add search engines or proxies?
If there is or especially if not does someone know how to add
Anonymouse.org? What about other unlisted search engines? Thanks very much

P.S. I know there is some type of add on for KM to open links with
Anonymouse but I just do not understand it.

There is an ad engine function in Advanced Prefences (guess You are referring to that): There press the ADD engine button: it will ask You for an URL and an description. The description is obvious.

I am not good with adding things but...

On jujuland, k-meleon extension page, is an extension called livehtpheaders.
It can be used to peek into comunications between browser and pages/servers.
I use it while calling yahoo from Anonymouse.

it said:

Referer: http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www_de.cgi/http://de.yahoo.com/

Pn mouse over You can see what URL I wrote. I write with extra spaces before and after slashes:

http: // anonymouse.org / cgi-bin / anon-www_de.cgi / http: // de.yahoo.com /

so something inside folder: http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www_de.cgi/ sent me to yahoo.

To me it looks like: http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www_de.cgi/ is the string that You add to the search section. With extra spaces:
http: // anonymouse.org / cgi-bin / anon-www_de.cgi /

I would experiment with it.

kko, Fred, Rapido, ndebord and some others will probably know better than me.
So if my answer does not get You anywhere You have to wait for a better response.

I think guenter is correct.

To add Anonymoused to the search engines list ... F2 > expand Browsing > select Finding Websites > select Tab: Search Engines > select button "Add"

Caption: Anonymoused
URL: http:// anonymouse.org / cgi-bin / anon-www.cgi / http://
[Note this is the english version of Anonymoused. Also note I've added spaces in this address; remove the spaces.]

Select the Tab: Web Search > select button "Add Entry" > a new form box will open; use the down arrow to highlight Anonymoused.

Close the Advanced Preferences.

To use Anonymoused on, say, Yahoo!: Type www. yahoo .com (remove the spaces) in the URL bar. Then click and hold on the Search Button, drag the mouse pointer down to Anonymoused, and release the mouse button. (Note: the Search Buttons Toolbar must be visible; View > Toolbars > Search Buttons)

Caption: Anonymoused Yahoo!
URL: http: // anonymouse.org / cgi-bin / anon-www.cgi / http: // search.yahoo.com / bin / search?p=

Would be easier, I guess smiling smiley

Principally, you only need to paste "http: // anonymouse.org / cgi-bin / anon-www.cgi /" in front of any search engine's URL in order to anonymouse it...

(remove all spaces from the URLs)
