I take it the "create shortcut" macro per http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KmmShortcut will not work with 1.5a.

Uncomment the line below # K-Meleon 1.5: and comment out the line below # K-Meleon prior to 1.5:.

I followed the instructions you provided. The Create Shortcut option is now in the Context menu, but it doesn't work. Twice I checked the macro to make sure I followed the instructions correctly, and it appears I followed them correctly.
