I think that this is convenient.
When tool bar is usable, it is convenient.
It is impossible on K-Meleon. (;_winking smiley

Erica possibly means that Google now has a better translation engine than the K-Meleon default one (babelfish.altavista.com). Which, BTW, I kinda agree to(o)...

Erica probably needs at Google translation for English pages
into Japanese.

As a fast solution :

Make a bookmark, by Add/Edit, containing the URL line :

http://translate.google.com/translate?langpair=en%7ja&hl=ja&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools&u=%s

Copy this link with your right mouse key --> Copy link URL
and put it into the URL line of Bookmarks.

and then give it a nick ,that is a abbreviation, in the line : Nick

for example : j , or any other letter, that you want, and have in your language.

When you are on an English page, add this letter at the beginning of the URL in the address bar, and one empty space before the URL, for example:

j http://www.usatoday.com

(without [ ] )

and hit then the Enter key.

This will translate an English page to Japanese.

I hope that this will help.

To translate an English word to Japanese,

you can make a Bookmark, by Add/Edit, containing the URL line :

http://translate.google.com/translate_t?langpair=en%7Cja&hl=ja&text=%s

Copy this link with your right mouse key --> Copy link URL
and put it into the URL line of Bookmarks.

Clicking on the bookmark later will open
a prompt window, where you can enter the word or
phrase to translate to Japanese.

By the way :

Clicking on the bookmark for translating a webpage
will open a prompt to enter a URL address that you
want translated to Japanese.

Fred
