Don't know if this is a problem only with KM 1.0.2 or with newer versions, but in 1.0.2, I can't get the map to post properly. I can get the directions and locations, but not the map. Anybody else see this?

Works ok here, even on Linux.
Do you have javascript enabled ? Otherwise it won't work.

Yup, got javascript enabled. Perhaps I've done something wrong. Give me a site that works for you and I'll see what is what. The thing is that yahoo maps works just fine and that I'm sure also uses javascript.

You should get Parker Colorado, and it seems to
work now even without javascript for basic functions.

You could make a bookmark for :
(the full link, copied by right click)

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&sa=N&tab=gl&q=%s

Clicking on the bookmark would then open
a prompt where you could enter the city name.

I get a greyed out map area and one of those placemark icons.

This is strange, because I even get it with
the OffByOne browser (has no javascript).
The browser Dillo (Linux, no javascript) shows
a link to a relocated address, where the image
can be seen finally.
Links 2 (graphical, no javascript) does not show it,
and also not the relocation link.
But when I enter the relocation link address manually,
I get the page with the map in Links2 as well.
So this relocation link should work in K-Meleon too.
It is :
(copy the full link by right click)

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=parker%20co&output=html

If this works, make a bookmark of :
(copy the full link by right click)

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&output=html&q=%s

Google maps search seems not to be present in the Wiki.
It should be added.
As the first search string did not work for you,
I presume that your automatic relocation is blocked,
possibly in userContent.css or in Proxomitron, if you
should be using this filter.
Automatic relocation is not mandatory, but a page
with a single link to the relocated page should
appear at least.

I found the old google maps macro from KM 0.9 and looked at it and the URL you gave me. It is a case of my using an outdated search macro. This is what I have: the first one is old and does not work, the second works just fine.

Am using K-Meleon 1.1.3 and Google Maps failed to display until I set permissions.default.image to 0 as suggested in the Google help file at

http://maps.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=18529&topic=10789

Now it works fine.

p.s. prefs I set in about:config don't save for me; I had to edit prefs.js by hand.

That is AFIK old - any pref that is ruled by Preferences from the exe can not be changed by a XUL panel like about.config or Advanced Preferences (this habbit will be fixed for 1.5
