I would like to use the shortcut V (view original) in Google Reader, but I get a message saying that a popup blocker is preventing the page from opening. I disabled "Block popup windows" but I still get the same message. Any idea why?

You can tried to unable 'Page Search' options: Edit -> Page Search ->
Find AS You Type
Start Automatically
Search Links Only

Or try to change Agent User string to Firefox, some web applications/services from google, yahoo and others not recognise K-Meleon as Gecko browser (Firefox compatible).
Tools -> User Agent
