not fast enough since Dorian made it check our authorisations & do not claim nobody spied por el servicio secreto es-ES.
A crafty check that seemed to know my browsers apart. I have an old authorized k-m and a new one.
BTW ioppp (ppp91-77-181-3.pppoe.mtu-net.ru) plenty of time watch film

Excuse me, but I assume that the devs didn't want the 1.1.4 to be released until further testing.
If the ones who have been given access to the RC version, as a friendly present or in request for help on testing, publish it unilaterally, the next time probably they will not even have the oportunity to try it before it's oficial. It's like biting the hand that feeds you (this is an old spanish refrain).
I don't know what the devs will do about this, but IMHO, next time they should check carefully who is given the oportunity to test the RCs.
How about forgeting an official 1.1.4 and releasing it directly as 1.1.5 when it's ready and maybe even waiting for GRE 1.8.1.13?

Issues with Outpost Firewall Pro 2008 (latest version)
Each time I first open K-M 1.1.4 - I get two TCP prompts from Outpost FW 2008 -
how to avoid them ?
Same two popups for every click on a weblink (after having already opened K-M 114).
Earlier I used OPv4_1025 with K-M 113 but never got such prompts
Grateful for any tips /ideas - thanks !
On Win XPSP2- 1GB RAM

@ Frank:
You must created a rule in your firewall to mark K-Meleon 1.1.4 as trust application.

Thanks desga_2 !
I wonder why it not happen with K-M 1.1.3 ? Are there some basic change
in K-M 1.1.4 ?
To set any browser (not just K-M) as trusted application is risky, dont you think ?

Frank

Those are Loopback connections to and from Local Host. 127.0.0.1 is a trusted address, it's your own computer so you can allow all ports in and out for that address.

K-M 1.1.3 needed as well the Loopback connections for working like 1.1.4 does.
No idea why you never got such promts. Maybe you changed your firewall or you did some changes to your ruleset.

It is ridiculous to use a client/browser you don't trust since you have to permit outbound connections anyway. However you can define strict rules for your clients/browsers assumed you have the necessary knowledge about protocols and about how your firewall and your applications are working.

Thanks Yogi
I follow why I get these prompts. Earlier using Outpost Pro v4-1025, so I must have clciked OK in that firewall.
I will study new OPro 2008 & see if its okay to trust browsers ie. K-M and Opera.

If your default browser has a serious flaw (IE has by far the worst record) you are at high risk no matter how restrictive the ruleset of your firewall is.
The only chance to reduce the risk in such a case is to configure the browser as secure as possible. If you visit a malicious site that is able to exploit the flaw than a single port (http:80) your firewall granted your browser can become fatally

The new version seems to be working good, but I have a little, but serious problem. The back button doesn't respond to the backspace key. Has anyone the same problem or an idee how to fix the problem?

Go to the menu Edit/Configuration/Accelerators
accel.cfg will pop up in the Editor Notepad.
At the bottom add the line
VK_BACK= ID_NAV_BACK
Go to File/Save of the opened Notepad, and save the changed file.
Close the browser. After restarting the browser the Backspace button
should go back in your browser history.
If this should create conflicts with other programs
and the Backspace button you use there, you could use instead
for example instead
CTRL VK_BACK = ID_NAV_BACK
to use the right Ctrl button together with Arrow left
for this task, using two fingers of your right hand together.

Thank you.
That shouldn't create any conflicts. Backspace is normaly the standard key for the back button in firefox and was it in the last k-meleon versions also.

It should be added that the fix above for backspace to go back in page history has a side effect: one will no longer be able to use backspace while editing textboxes...

That is how it was in earlier versions, but seems
not to be the case anymore.
Backspace after clicking on a textbox works as deleting
the last typed letter.
After clicking again outside the textbox, Backspace
works for going back one page.

There is a small issue, but nothing great. Now I can't use the backspace key in the url bar, when I want to correct an url. Nothing great, I have the DEL Key in backup.

Excuse me if I'm asking a dumb question, but shouldn't the urlbar be considered a text area? :O

You are probably right.
But at least in text boxes like this message box and also in
search boxes of search engines the backspace key can now be
used to delete letters backwards.
As an alternative you can still use CTRL VK_LEFT, as I used
it myself in most of my browser variations (together with
CTRL VK_RIGHT for going forward and CTRL_DOWN for closing the
window or the tab - I absolutely need to have this combination
for quick browsing with three fingers of my right hand ),
or as another possibility CTRL VK_BACK.
The default keys for most browsers are ALT VK_LEFT, which always
was too complicated to find for me.

Why not Backspace and Delete, and arrow keys to move the cursor? Simple and always works for me with all browsers.
