I would propose to use ALT+Q for the shortcut instead of ALT+S
to avoid conflicts with opening a dropdown menu from the menu bar.
First open notepad and create a file accel.cfg, containing :
ALT Q = macros(search_meta)
Go to your Profiles folder, which should be located either in
C:/Documents..../yourusername/ApplicationData/K-Meleon/default/...... .slt,
or in your K-Meleon main folder.
Save this file accel.cfg in your Profile folder, that means
in the subfolder with a random name ending in .slt ,
for example m2s8v3i5.slt .
In this same subfolder you will also find a subfolder called "macros".
In this subfolder you should save a new file you have to create in notepad,
called searchmeta.kmm ,
which should contain the following text :
$meta1="
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&query=";
$meta2="
http://search.msn.ch/results.aspx?srch_type=0&FORM=QBHP&geovar=150&q=";
$meta3="
http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=";
$meta4="
http://images.google.com/images?btnG=Google+Search&safe=off&filter=0&q=";
$meta5="
http://www.ask.com/web?q=";
$meta6="
http://www.gigablast.com/search?quote1="e2=&q=-=&url=&link=&sc=1&ns=5&n=100&sites=&plus=";
search_meta{
menu = "Metasearch";
$word = prompt("Enter search query:", "Metasearch");
$string=$word;
&ViewMeta;
}
ViewMeta{
pluginmsg(layers,"OpenURL",$meta1 . $word):
pluginmsg(layers,"OpenURL",$meta2 . $word):
pluginmsg(layers,"OpenURL",$meta3 . $word):
pluginmsg(layers,"OpenURL",$meta4 . $word):
pluginmsg(layers,"OpenURL",$meta5 . $word):
pluginmsg(layers,"OpenURL",$meta6 . $word);
}
Restart the browser, and ALT+Q should open a prompt
for Metasearch (Layers should be enabled).
I hope that you will succeed.
