XML Parsing Error: undefined entity

Anybody? Can you help me figure out how I mucked up the update using Seamonkey 1.1.9 for KM 1.0.2?

The entity scaryWarningTitle.label hasn't been found in the dtd file where it's supposed to be found.

You must found the file to edit. To do it, you have 2 ways:

1) unzip the jar file, look in the xul file concerned where can be found (in which dtd file) the string. add the string, and rezip the file to try again.

2) use 7z, to Edit the file. When closing the editor, 7z will update the jar file.

Test it.

If you can't make it work in this way, just replace &scaryWarningTitle.label; by
scaryWarningTitle.label in the jar file.

You'll see scaryWarningTitle.label instead of the value, but you will bypass the error.

This error type is easy to correct with a little more experience. It seems you begin in this particular sport.

The file for about:config is in

toolkit.jar>content>global>config.xul

and can also be called by the URL
chrome://global/content/config.xul

It depends on
chrome://global/content/config.css and
chrome://global/content/config.js
in toolkit.jar, and on
chrome://global/locale/config.properties and
chrome://global/locale/config.dtd
in en-US.jar

However, I could not get the error message, and
do not know what caused it, or how to correct
the fault.

To correct such errors You can take all the mentioned files from a SeaMonkey Chrome and copy them in situ. Except perhaps the style sheet (css).

Else You have a look which of these.

chrome://global/locale/config.properties and
chrome://global/locale/config.dtd

One of them contains the new(old) entity that is undefined and belongs to the error.

p. s. You easiest take a Chrome from the K-Meleon 1.x. version You want to update.
K-Meleon Chromes still belong to their version when You update the GRE components.
Even PPL that could update Chromes rarely do so

Looks like Fred's update did the trick. But it is good to hear about how to get into the nuts and bolts of the process, even if I seldom get around to actually mucking around inside jar files. (Working 24/7 once again.) SIGH
