Temporarily Removing a Toolbar

I just upgraded from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4.

I keep telling myself that this browser has so many
limitations I should stop using it. I can't. It loads
pages faster than all the others. Also, its a great
platform to test an unstable site. Before there were
browsers like Firefox and K-Meleon, it was almost
impossible to visit numerous sites that might crash IE
or your entire system.

Anyway, I searched through all the preferences, options,
etc. I'd like to remove (not permanently) the toolbar
with the K-Meleon Home and K-Meleon Forum buttons. Its
the third toolbar from the top in version 1.1.4.

With some browsers you can create a simple registry script
that will delete a value or key. When you want to restore
the toolbar you import a saved copy of the original registry
entries.

Maybe what I want to do is already a feature of this version.
If it is, I can't find it.

Thanks guys.

This is very easy! This toolbar is Bookmarks toolbars an you can hide it with View -> Toolbars -> Bookmarks.

No registry modifications are needed with K-Meleon, all modifications are in your hands by menus/panels or config files. smiling smiley

That can be deactivated in Advanced Preferences since I think You talk about the "bookmarks toolbar" smiling smiley

I tried to translate the item from my German Advanced Preferences panel (so wording can be slightly different for You)- the item is in the 2nd line then 2nd tab from the left.

p.s. You do not need a registry script.

You are absolutely correct, desga2!

When Microsoft first created the Windows Registry most
people instantly hated it. Not me. I'm a old command
line junky. In the early days of Windows I spent most
of my time manipulating and fixing Windows bugs by
hacking the Registry.

If all my friends and colleagues switched to a Linux distro
I would never use Windows again. Vista is so bad most
businesses have decided to keep using XP. They all hope
that in a couple of years Microsoft will have the next
version of Windows ready. Will it be less buggy than
Vista, who knows? If a Linux distro could be created that
required almost no knowledge of the command line it might
have a fighting chance against Windows.

I apologize for not checking out all the menu options K-Meleon
has to offer.
