http://kmeleon.et8.net/K-MeleonCCFME0.09Beta1V3.exe

And this version is about 50% faster than the last 0.09 Beta1 V2

The webkit sunspider js benchmark shows:

K-MeleonCCF ME 0.09 Beta1 V3: 5291ms

Thank you for your build.
I tried it in Linux with the wine emulator.
Unfortunately wine has problems with the 80 runtimes.
They are not implemented up to now, and cannot simply
be added to the system32 folder.
K-meleon.exe from 1.9 embedded in Firefox 3 can be
made working, because the 80 runtimes are not needed.
I hope that wine will implement the missing parts soon,
but I am not sure about this, because Wine 1.0 is planned
to be released soon, and this final version is supposed to stay
unchanged then for a while.
Regards
Fred

Installation of the 80s runtimes in wine was possible with the help
of the winetricks script calling up vcrun2005 for win2k,
the 71 runtimes were also needed.
Nevertheless gklayout did not get the browsergui to work.
After replacing it by an older version the browsergui appeared,
but the browser was not functional in Linux, not even with the
usual KM architecture.
I will try to do some more changes, but it looks difficult
to achieve.

This version is being tested on Windows Vista, and I 'm not sure it 's working on all the systems.

Not running with XP SP2 nor WinME. Problems similar to what Fred reported. But can be my systems. since they are configured differently.

In Windows XP you can try to install the necessary 80s runtimes
by installing vcredist_x86.exe from here :

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee

This is the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86).
The 80s runtimes must be installed, and can not only be copy and pasted.
The 71s runtimes should also be in your system, which may be already
so most of times.

Try to unzip to a new folder. Make sure there's no kmeleon.exe.manifest in kmeleon folder cause it will casue the startup problem...

I can always place the 80.dll into k-meleon folder without installing.
SeaMonkey 2.x.pre uses AFAIK the same - so it seems to be a feature of my system grinning smiley

Works fine to me in Win2000 SP4 with 80's runtime installed (and 71's of course).

Hao
Would you please to create Extensions System for K-MeleonCCF ME ? ...we would be very happy about that ...and start to learn lua language.
(it seems to me - lua+js would be the great extensions system)

Is it possible to include XUL in the future versions? Or instruction on how to enable XUL.

It is the fact that there is no Xul which makes these
No-Xul versions faster.
Adding Xul would slow them down, and also would make them
more vulnerable to security problems, because exploitable
flaws are mostly to find in Xul.

It's a good idea to create an working extension system with Lua macros + JS. However Mark307 should be a better person to ask than me cause he's the really the master behind this system.

And at this moment, you 're already able to do a lot of things with lua macros and js, and the api lua macros provide is already very in detail. You can take a look at it first. And I agree it would be better we can have a more easier tutorial for lua macros utilizing js also.

I have it working under XP SP3. Took Fred's advice about installing the C++ runtimes. Very fast browser. For some reason the favicons don't work very well. Either it does not retrieve the icon or if it does, does not save it to iconcache.dat. Some, when displayed are so dark that the icon cannot be seen. But, proxy works, tabs work (though they act more like layers). He has improved upon the tabs in this one so that when you press the scroll button it will open a new tab or close a tab. You can transfer previous passwords and bookmarks from Hao's other beta version to this one by copying them over through Windows Explorer.

I have it working under XP SP3, also, but I have a problem. I have no menu so I went into Preferences and checked Menu, closed and restarted. Still no menu. What am I doing wrong? everything else seems to work.

@ leveck:

K-Meleon CCF ME versions have menu bar hide by default. You can acces to menu with right click over Preferences button in toolbar.
But, you found a bug, "Show Menu" option in Preference panel not work.

The line in "prefs.js" file in your K-Meleon profile folder:
user_pref("kmeleon.toolband.Menu.visibility", false);
is changed to:
user_pref("kmeleon.toolband.Menu.visibility", true);

But this not take effect, also after restart K-Meleon.

@ Hao:
This pref work fine in 1.5 beta1.

I noticed the same problem with favicon on XP sp2 system. However there 's no such problem on Windows Vista system.
