New skin for K-Meleon: [bat]mini
Posted by: Ingrid

Hi everybody!

I'm a new K-Meleon user and just made a new skin inspired by the Void skin for Firefox. I have no idea how to upload skins to this site so I added it to my googlepage. You can get it here for now if you're interested.

The throbber used in the screenshot is called "Storm" and is made by Oops66. You'll have to download it serparatly from the throbber's section since I left it out for copyright reasons.

I hope you'll enjoy it. =)

Cheers!

-Ingrid

@mail25.anonymouse.org

1.02 has some other macro names - so You may have to adapt them if they are used in the skin. I did not check with 1.02 but I do not think they are used. The indicator is that a button is not functioning or showing wrong text with non English versions.

1.1.x and 1.1. NX use AFAIK identical macros names in skins as the current official 1.1.5. At the moment they are AFAIK all major version 1.1. Changes in skin are between 0.8/0.9/1.0.x and 1.1.x and another will probably be in 1.5.

Minimalistic skins for older versions are in the skin Wiki.
Skins are easy to edit with a normal editor and just user knowledge.

To use the two skins by Ingrid in my version K-Meleon-NX18113
unpack the 7z files of the new skins and put the folders
"[bat]mini light" and "[bat]mini dark" into the "skins" folder
inside the K-Meleon main folder.
They have to be on the same level as "Phoenity".
Then rename the 2 files toolbar.cfg inside the 2 new skin folders
to toolbars.cfg-orig and open notepad.
Copy and paste my adapted text for toolbars.cfg below
into notepad and save the file as toolbars.cfg , as "all files",
not as ".txt" . If you get a file toolbars.cfg.txt, rename
it to toolbars.cfg .
Put this file toolbars.cfg into the 2 new folders of the new skins.
(They replace there the orignal toolbar.cfg files, that you have
renamed before to toolbars.cfg-orig) .
I have changed the back and forward buttons a bit, to make them
visible, when used in Linux, where the toolbar background is not changeable.

This should work for K-Meleon1.02-1.8.1.13 as well, if you do it the
same way there.
Below now the new text for toolbars.cfg (buttons by default enabled only) .

P.S.:

In K-Meleon1.02-1.8.1.13 you will get first every toolbar after the
other. You can pull each toolbar to the spot, where you want to have it,
and make invisible the ones that you don't need in the menu View/Toolbars,
You can lock the toolbars there as well.
The same is possible in K-Meleon-NX18113, but not in Linux, because
in Linux the toolbars have to be in fixed length and position as written
in prefs.js, and are not moveable manually there, but only by
fixing it in prefs.js .
